Steps to land a job inshallah: 1. Lots of Dua, lots of istighfar, give charity consistently even in small amounts, fajr Quran recitation, recite surah waqiah, maintain prayers 2. Before you ask for help on anything, first Google it yourself to find the information! Also go on Youtube and search for any skill/knowledge you want to know about. Avoid asking for things which you can obviously find if you take the time to research on your own. Use the time of others by asking for practical personal or professional advice only! 3. Email to all your professional friends that you are looking for a job and to pass to you any opportunities they come across in their companies and ask them the company names - apply directly at their companies and ask your friends to also pass the resume directly to the on-site recruiter and/or hiring manager 4. Use LinkedIn connections, 1st and 2nd to reach out for job referrals and set up a job alert 5. Do not put on your Linkedin profile that you are laid off or looking for job, but rather send private msg to recruiters or connections on there. Look at samples of great profiles of other connections so you can draft a professional looking profile also. If you are a salesforce admin, look at other profiles with salesforce admin to see how they wrote their bio and imitate yours the same way. Do not copy and paste verbatim! 6. Watch lots of YouTube videos on Phone interview q s Interview Questions etc - Compile a list of 20 behavioral and 50 questions based on your field. Practice with a friend how to answer the questions confidently. Record yourself to see how your body language is. Example. I created flashcards of my questions on one side and bullet points on the other side. So when I randomly selected my cards I would attempt to answer the question and record myself. I looked at bullet points to remind myself on what I wanted to say. This is VERY useful during phone interviews! I used a large table and laid out all my answers with bullet points and when I was asked the questions, I was able to give natural speaking answers and glanced at bullet points to recall certain points I wanted to convey 9. Keep practicing interviews with yourself using flashcards or with a buddy, until you land your real interview inshallah 10. Avoid answering interview questions by memorized lines, keep it natural and provide real examples based on your experience 11. Be ready to provide samples of your work if you are asked and be ready to provide professional references if requested 12. During interviews - have a power pose, show confidence, answer concisely and do not voluntarily give more information than what they asked for! Maintain eye contact and smile 13. Have samples of thank you after interview email and follow up email after 1-2 weeks ready. Example, I saved these 2 drafts in my email account so each time I interviewed, I would simply copy and paste my draft samples and then customize them. This was efficient and I made sure to send my emails in a timely manner. Thank you email after interview should be sent out on the same day after 3-5 hours. Do not send it within 30 minutes! Keep some time break in there. 14. If you need to get skills - take the classes on Lynda.com or Udemy.com. They are super cheap and you can learn a lot about project management, programming skills, salesforce, microsoft crm, cloud, you name it all for $30 a month or $15 per class with forever access. No need to pay over $300+ for any onsite class 15. Join a local Toasmasters club (toastmasters.org) to improve your communication and leadership skills - MCA has a Toastmasters club so consider joining it! 16. Download Grammarly (grammarly.com) as an extension in your browser and on your desktop computer. This will help with correcting any grammatical, spacing and spelling mistakes on anything you write. Your emails, work documents etc. 17. Attend local professional seminars or conferences to find potential mentors or future employment connections. Don t bother attending job networking events as meeting others who are also looking for jobs will not be useful. Rather, attending a conference at Open Silicon Valley (www.opensiliconvalley.org) will allow you to meet someone whom you can learn from and possibly get a job referral from. Sadaqah in the form of Sacrifice Give Sadaqah Regularly & May Allah Protect You Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, Give the Sadaqah without delay for it stands in the way of calamity. (Tirmidhi #1887) The Prophet (pbuh) also said, The most excellent sadaqah consists in your satisfying a hungry stomach. (Tirmidhi #1946) For most of us, meat is a common part of our diet - often times we even have several different types of meat in a single meal. However, for so many others in the world, a meal including meat is a luxury that they seldom enjoy. Hidaya Foundation performs Sadaqah in the form of Sacrifice on behalf of our donors and the meat is distributed to the poor, most of whom would not be able to eat meat otherwise.
