WISDOM OF ST FRANCIS DE SALES One of the most important lessons for the spiritual life is that we must try to maintain unaltered evenness of spirit. Our heart must unceasingly lean on the love of God, whether our soul is overwhelmed with peace or with anxiety. Remain constantly fixed on the desire to seek God alone, no matter if everything within us and around us is confused. Let your heart be full of courage and your courage full of confidence in God. PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING O God, of Whose mercies there is no number, and of Whose goodness the treasure is infinite, we render thanks to Thy most gracious Majesty for the gifts Thou hast bestowed upon us, always beseeching Thy clemency; that as Thou grant the petitions of them that ask Thee, Thou wilt never forsake them, but wilt prepare them for the greater rewards which still await them. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. In all things give thanks, for this is the Will of God for all of you in Christ Jesus. (I Thess. 5: 18) INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST 03

You may request decorative Mass cards of the Holy Infant Jesus, which you can put inside of the standard size Christmas greeting cards you give to the family and friends who are remembered in this Novena. The suggested donation for these Mass cards is $15 per five cards, in order to cover the printing costs. In addition to the 2010 wall calendar which will be available before the end of this month, it is now possible to pre-order online (www.institute-christ-king.org) a special 2010 desk calendar commemorating the twenty year anniversary of the Institute. A donation of $52 for this unique desk calendar that s one dollar per week--will support the work of the Institute during this year in which our 20 th anniversary will be celebrated in September. 05 INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST

HOLY The Shrine of Christ the King was built in 1923 by renowned architect Henry Schlacks as St. Clara Church. Having barely escaped the wrecking ball, this magnificent historic landmark has been given to the care of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. With only provisional furnishings, the Shrine is already a haven for the transcendent beauty of the Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite, dear to our beloved Pope Benedict XVI. The more you honor Me, the more I will bless you. Here, the Divine Infant King, real Symbol for Truth Lived in Charity, will be the center of liturgical worship and devotion. A seventeenth century statue of the Divine Infant King, donated by a generous benefactor, has been solemnly crowned and enthroned above the High altar of the Shrine by His Eminence Francis Cardinal George in December 2007. In honor of the Divine Infant King a Votive High Mass of the Nativity is celebrated at the Shrine at 7:00 pm on the 25th day of every month. In preparation for this monthly commemoration of the Infant King, a Novena prayer in His honor is recited after daily Mass from the 17th through the 25th of every month. VOTIVE MASS OF THE NATIVITY IN HONOR OF THE DIVINE INFANT KING Followed by Benediction of the most Blessed Sacrament WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25 AT 7:00 PM Choral music by Schola Immaculata under the direction of Kevin Allen Missa Brevis Josef Rheinberger (1839-1901) Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus/Benedictus, Agnus Dei Offertory Motet: Hodie Scietis, Kevin Allen Communion Motet: Monstra Te Esse, Kevin Allen Tantum Ergo, Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) Novena Prayer O Divine Infant Jesus, I have recourse to Thee. Please, through Thy Blessed Mother, assist me in this necessity (mention intention here), because I firmly believe that Thy Divinity can help me. I hope with confidence to obtain thy holy grace. I love Thee with all my heart and with all the strength of my soul. I repent sincerely of my sins and I beg Thee, O Good Jesus, to grant me the strength to triumph over them. I resolve never more to offend Thee and I come to offer myself to Thee with the intention of enduring everything rather than to displease Thee. Henceforth, I desire to serve Thee with fidelity and, for the love of Thee, O Divine Infant, I will love my neighbor as myself. All powerful Infant, O Jesus, I implore Thee again, assist me in this need. Grant me the grace of possessing Thee eternally with Mary and Joseph and of adoring Thee with the angels in the heavenly court. Amen. INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST 06
