Pray for all men and women in the armed services. The Durand Knights of Columbus 7955 will receive an AED/Defibrillator later in June from a grant through The Shiawassee Community Foundation. Because the St. Mary church already has an AED, the St. Mary Council will donate the AED to the Gaines church. An AED will attempt to reestablish a heart rhythm electrically with paddles and battery power after a heart stops with a heart related problem. At a later date we will be asking for volunteers to take a class on how to use these AED's. Ideally, we would like to have at least two or more volunteers who regularly attend each Mass at the two parishes so there will be someone with this knowledge at every Mass. This is an opportunity for persons with special needs and their families to pray and celebrate together, with our Catholic community. This Mass, while a little shorter, has a homily and music that is tailored to those with special needs. The Mass allows everyone to be themselves, and enables children and adults with special needs to serve, to read, to usher and to participate in whatever way that they feel comfortable. The next mass will be June 24, at 1:00pm, at Holy Redeemer. COME AS YOU ARE. YOUNG AND OLD. ALL ARE WELCOME. Grow - Pray (and WITNESS).every day Save the Date!
