In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen.

Begin with the Lord s prayer Our Lord and Savior, our King and God, we thank you for gathering us here to stand before you to call on your Holy Name. Heavenly Father, teach us to trust You in everything we do. Our God open our eyes, ears, hearts and minds that we may hear Your Word, keep it in our hearts and tell our friends about your glory and honor. Bless all the children and keep them safe. Hear us when we humbly and thankfully pray to you.

Our Father, who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from the evil one For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the Glory. Forever, Amen.

O our Lady, as St. Gabriel greeted you, Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. True Virgin in conscience as well as body, blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Holy Mary, the God-bearer, pray that your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, may forgive us our sins. Amen.

Say The Jesus Prayer 3 times Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Jesus Christ Heals a blind man September 07, 2014

Memorize today s Verse I am the light of the world. (John 9:5) Practice this verse again during the week.

Story Telling. One day Lord Jesus was walking with His disciples in the streets of Jerusalem. They saw a blind man who was begging for food; all the people in the city knew him and that he was born without eyes!! When the disciples saw him they felt sorry for him and asked Lord Jesus, Why is this man blind? Whose sin was it that caused this man to be born blind? His own, or his parents?

Story cont d. Lord Jesus answered, His blindness has nothing to do with his sins or his parents sins. He is blind so God s power might be seen at work in him While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Story Cont d After He said this, Lord Jesus spat on the ground and made some mud with the spittle; he rubbed the mud on the man s face and said to him, Go, wash your face in the pool of Siloam. The man obeyed and many people led him by the hand there.

Story cont d The man washed his face in the pool as he was told the miracle was fulfilled, Lord Jesus created eyes for him and he saw light for the first time; he saw the sun, the sky, the trees, the people, his parents, Jerusalem, the temple everything!

All the people that knew him rejoiced. They asked him, How have your eyes opened? He told them that a man named Jesus had healed him. They asked where he was and he also wanted to know to thank Lord Jesus for what He had done.

Some people were not happy The Pharisees were a group of Jews who didn t like Lord Jesus They took the man and asked him how he had gotten his sight back. He told them what Lord Jesus did for him. Some of the Pharisees said, this Man is a sinner! they meant Lord Jesus.

The man born blind asked them how can a sinner open my eyes? How can a sinner do the mighty works of God? He is a prophet.

The Pharisees talked to him for hours, but they couldn t convince him. They drove him out and brought in his parents. They asked his parents if this was there son and if he was indeed born blind. They said, Yes! Then they asked how can he see now? His parents replied, we do not know, ask him, he is old enough to answer for himself.

They brought the man back and asked him the questions again. He said that he has told them over and over again, but they won t listen. What do you want to listen to? Do you want to be His disciples? They cursed him and threw him out of the synagogue.the man longed to see Lord Jesus.

Lord Jesus had heard that they thrown him out. He found him and said, do you believe in the Son of God? The man answered, Tell me who He is sir, so I can believe in Him. Lord Jesus said to him, You have already seen Him, and He is the one who is talking to you now. He believed, and knelt down before Jesus. At that moment, the man s heart was filled with faith as he saw the Light of the world. He saw the Savior and believed in Him.

During the Liturgy the priests, deacons and the people always pray for the sick, the helpless and the weak so that our Lord Jesus have mercy on them, and heal them. Do you pray for your loved one when they fall sick, or when they have some hardships?

Conclusion Sometimes we are blind to the presence of Lord Jesus Christ in us and in our life. We do not know Him or we do not feel His presence. This is a worse kind of blindness than what the man born blind had. We must pray and ask God to open our spiritual eyes so we can see Him and see His work in us.

Movie Clip Show a short movie clip about the story, if available.
