SCRIPTURAL TERMS DEFINED Concerning The Two Natures Paul N. Smith

Guarding Against Heresy. Jude 17-19

Transcription:

Carnal Man ROMANS 8: 7, and 8 because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God Since my last article the Lord has been working on me on this very subject. It is amazing how much we take for granted and how our egos think we have arrived and therefore do not need His help. The road to sanctification is a hard

one if we truly want to serve Him. It is a road that shows us our rebellious and carnal nature. It is only if and when we allow His precious Holy Spirit room in our Inn that He is able to change us into a true servant. Do you remember the Inn and the place our Savior was born? It is now our body that has become the Inn that houses His Spirit here on earth. He now resides in our body which He has made His temple here on earth. He now lives in us and makes it possible for us to change from our natural flesh into a Spirit filled Born Again believer. Once again having a relationship with

the God that made us and knows us from conception. Now that we have become His living temple we must act accordingly. No longer living for ourselves but for others. Only with His help can we glorify the One we say we follow. The following verses speak to our carnal man and the flesh that rules us without His lead and instruction Romans 7: 14 for we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin James 4:4 ye adulterers and adultereses, know ye not that the friendship of the world

is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be friend of the world is the enemy of God 1 st Corinthians 2: 14 but the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God : for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned It is important for us to know who we are before our Born Again experience. Then we can be

transformed into who He wants us to become. It is impossible to grow in Him if we do not yield our nature for His nature. We must acknowledge our lost state before we can be found in His Kingdom. We must ask ourselves these following questions.. If we say we love Him with abandon and have allowed His Spirit the thrown of our hearts will we abandon our rebellion for His will? Will we allow Him access so that He can make the changes necessary so we can truly have relationship?

The battle rages on in all our lives. Who is in control? This continual wrestling goes on in each of us until we relinquish our will for His. If we do not we will continue to rebel and our journey will be in the wilderness. Our Egypt will continue to be our home and the promised land will continually be in the distance far from realization. How long will we continue to ignore His instructions and turn a blind eye to His Word. Many preach empty words and tickle ears. What will it take? How big of a valley will we have to endure before we awaken?

These questions must be answered if we are to move on and grow in His victory and promise. When we acknowledged our fallen nature only then will we be able to conquer the grave. Submission is the key to our victory in Him. I would recommend to you Psalm 34 and that you would take the time to read it in its entirety. For the purpose of this article I will focus on verse 18: The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit The word contrite means bended or at in a kneeling position. We are to

submit to His authority and will. Are you willing to kneel your heart to Him? He is waiting for you... The Comforter and teacher He sent in His stead is patiently waiting. Will we have the discipline and become the Disciple that will glorify His name? Will we be His witnesses so those who are lost will be drawn to Him? If we become obedient and submit to Him only then through our obedience can we mature and become His. The victory is ours if only we become broken and acknowledge the need for His help. We can not do it on our own

and will not have the victory He promises for the here and now if we do not understand who we are without Him. We are a Carnal Man! May He enlighten us and show us with the light of His countenance our fallen nature. With Him we can have the communion that is ours because He purchased us with a precious price, His precious blood. Pride must be left at the door of humility and our hearts must be broken for His. I encourage you to survey the cross and look into the mirror before you. Take a count of the cost and pick up your cross

and follow Him. You notice He asks us to follow Him and asks nothing other than our love and obedience. It is important for us to understand that we fight a battle that has been won if we have insight with the Spirit of God. We are victorious here on earth if we walk after the precious Holy Spirit and let Him reveal the revelation knowledge we need to succeed in our walk. There is a important concept that has been given to us by the Lord and it is found in Jude 1:17-25 It reminds us that it will not be easy for us in the Last Days if we do not

separate ourselves from lusts of the world. In verse 20, He begins a prayer that ends at verse 25. I am going to end this article with Jude 1:24 and 25 because it glorifies the Master we serve with all reverence. It closes giving Him ALL honor and respect... 24 : Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25: To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever, Amen

PS. Remember Psalm 34 take a look at verse 22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of His servants and none of them that TRUST in Him shall be desolate.
