The Story and Purpose of Jesus Birth

Job 38:7 KJV "When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God (angels) shouted for joy."

Matt 18:10 (NASV), "angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven."

Psalms 16:11 (NKJV) "In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

Proverbs 8:30 (NKJV) Then I was beside Him, as a master craftsman [in creation]; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him.

John 17:15 (NASV), Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) "Let us make man in our image, and after our likeness"

Genesis 3:13 (NKJV) And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

Gen 3:15 (NKJV) "And, enmity, will I put between thee, and the woman, and between thy seed, and her seed, He, shall crush thy head, But, thou, shalt crush his heel."

Genesis 22:17-18 (NKJV), "blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven... In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed... Genesis 28:14 (NKJV), "in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed"

Rev 21:4 (NASV), and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.

Rev 13:8 KJV the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Hebrews 10:5-7 (NKJV) Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me `Behold, I have come To do Your will, O God.'"

Luke 1:13-14 (NKJV), the angel said, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth."

Zacharias and Elizabeth were righteous.

Pre-natal influences can encourage a mental and spiritual tendency toward godliness. Matt 1:11 (KJV), "among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist."

Luke 1:28-33: (NKJV) "...the angel said to her, 'Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!' But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

Luke 1:28-33: (NKJV) "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.'"

Isa 9:6-7 (NAS) For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

Mary hurried to Judea to find Elizabeth

Luke 1:41-45: (NKJV) "And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit

Luke 1:41-45: (NKJV) Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord."

Luke 1:46-50: (NKJV) "And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation."

Matt 1:18-25 (NKJV), "...After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit Matt 1:18-25 (NKJV), "... Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly

Matt 1:18-25 (NKJV), "... But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS."

Joseph and Mary travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem to register.

Luke 2:6,7 (NAS), "And it came about that while they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her first-born son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

Phil. 2:6-8 (NAS) says, "although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of bond servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."

Luke 2:10,11: (NAS) "And the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:9: (Phillips)...the splendor of the Lord blazed around them, and they were terrorstricken.

Luke 2:14 (NKJV), "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

Luke 2:16-18: (NIV) So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Wise men follow the star, seeking the new born King

Herod finds out that the new king is to be born in Bethlehem.

Matt. 2:7,8: (NIV) Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."

Wise men follow the star, bringing gifts to the new born king.

Gifts recognized Jesus as king, priest & bridegroom

Why did Jesus come into the world? Rom 5:12 (NKJV) Therefore, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned

Luke 2:10,11: (NAS) "And the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

John 1:29 (NKJV) "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Why did Jesus have to die?

God s Law to Moses LIFE FOR LIFE (Exodus 21:23-25; Deuteronomy 19:21)

Romans 5:18 (NKJV) Therefore, as through one man's (Adam s) offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's (Jesus) righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.

Why didn t God prevent Satan from tempting Adam and Eve to sin?

Isa 11:9-10 the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea. Isa 26:9 when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Rev 21:4 (NASV), and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.

Matt 2:13-14 (NKJV) an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him. When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt.
