PAGE 2 From The East I must now ask you what are we as a lodge doing to make the good men in our lodge better? Fraternally James M. Burris W.M. burrisjm1979@sbcglobal.net James Burris, WM 2010 Greetings from the East Brethren, FREEMASONRY DEFINED: What is the definition of Freemasonry? In old England, it was defined as a system of morality, veiled in allegory (or a story) and illustrated by symbols. It is a course of moral instruction which uses both allegories and symbols to teach its lessons. Our symbols of the Entered Apprentice Mason Degree are the 24" Gauge and the Common Gavel. The modern definition is Freemasonry is an organized society of men, symbolically applying the principles of Operative Masonry and architecture to the science and art of character building. In other words, we are trying to use the old methods to make good men better. I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him. -Abraham Lincoln- Always a Brother, Never a Stranger

PAGE 3 From the West Upcoming Events April 3, 2010 Senior Warden 2010 Greetings From the West, I would like to thank the officers for all their great work and achievements during our recent lodge of instruction. I am very impressed with the progress of our newest brethren taking part in the degrees. We as an officer line would like to take a moment to invite those brethren who have not graced our doors in many years, and we do understand that times are tough and with the current economic conditions that it is difficult to make it out to lodge. We remind you that at Englewood Lodge your Always a brother, never a stranger. Pancake Breakfast 9a.m. -11a.m. May 25, 2010 90th Anniversary Dinner (Brother Masons only) 6:30pm May 29th, 2010 90th Anniversary Celebration 2:30pm June 5th, 2010 Englewood Lodge Clean-up Day Fraternally, Tim Baugh, S.W. tdbaugh1@juno.com Remember that 2010 dues are $90 for the year if you need assistance please let us know.

PAGE 4 From The South Last but not least we will be celebrating our 90th anniversary of Englewood Lodge and a dinner on Tuesday May 25, 2010 will bring our brethren together to celebrate 90 years. We will be enjoying a hearty meal and sharing the many memories of this great lodge. Junior Warden 2010 Fraternally, Bob Borden rmb7884@yahoo.com Greetings from the South! I would like to give thanks to the many compliments that we have received in the past months with regards to the meals being prepared in the kitchen. I also welcome your feedback and it is greatly appreciated. Your feedback is a vital tool to our success in the kitchen this year. In addition the Bob Lemen food pantry is in need of replenishing. Many of our brethren, their widows and orphans are in need of assistance at this time and it is our duty to make sure that they receive it. Quotes The bravest thing you can do when you are not brave is to profess courage and act accordingly. - Corra Harris -
