A Property for the Church in Addis Ababa and the Training in Ethiopia The Church in Addis Ababa was raised up in 2001 with a little over 50 saints who were mostly university students at that time. Since then the Lord has blessed the church life in many ways. The church has grown to over 350 saints and there are over 20 localities in Ethiopia where the saints are meeting. Since the end of 2005 there has been a continuous traffic of coworkers visiting for conferences twice a year and, beginning in August of 2009 there has been a perfecting training carried out by various visiting brothers. As a result, the church life flourished and spread. Today the church life is spreading to all corners of the country. In August 2016, through fellowship with the workers, we began a Fulltime Pursuing training in Ethiopia. We will complete the first round of two years this coming June and by then we will have 58 trainees who will have passed through at least one year of the pursuing training. Several of these trainees have the burden to serve in a full-time way and in other ways. There is a growing hunger for the truth in the country and thousands of hungry and young seekers are everywhere. We feel there is a bottle neck which has limited the increase and work among the many seeking students and the community in general. The church in Addis does not have a proper meeting facility. There is hardly any more room for the saints general meetings and there is no space for the children and young people s work and meetings. As second most populous country in Africa, the population of Ethiopia is estimated to be over 105 million. It is also a strategic entry point into Africa due to its central location in relation to Asia and Europe and its growing airline which connects most of Africa together and with the rest of the world. Africa, with over a billion people, also needs a strong center for the work. The African Union, the Ethiopian Airlines and many other stake holders are aggressively pushing forward with an initiative to bring Africa together to be more integrated to fulfill the pan-african agenda for free travel within Africa. Addis Ababa, being the capital of the African Union hosts various headquarters of international organizations, embassies and diplomatic missions. To further advance the Lord s move and meet the need in Africa there needs to be property in this part of the continent where we can have the Full Time Training, the proper meeting facility for the church and a blending center. The economic climate in Ethiopia has been so favorable for attracting investment both from the

local and international community. The past decade has been a time of economic boom in the country. There is construction everywhere in the city of Addis and in many other cities. The demand for land is so high and the price of property is ever-increasing. According to the pattern for the past several years, the price of land could double within about a year. With this in view and in fellowship with the coworkers, we have been looking for a proper and adequate land in Addis Ababa for a few years. Recently, we looked at a property in a reasonable location and price. Below is the description of the property for the consideration and fellowship of the Body. Description of Property Location of property: Located in the southcentral area of Addis Ababa, it is about 5 miles from the center of the city, and from the airport. Size of Land: 7100 m 2 (1.75 Acres), with a possibility of annexing an additional 4,000m2 adjacent to the land. This will require a process of presenting a proposal to develop the area and an approval by the city government. Surroundings: Boundaries are a park on the north side, a manufactory complex and a warehouse on the South, and residential units on the west and a street on the East side. Current Owners: This is a family owned property, twelve children with their mother who have lived here for over 50 years. The coworkers and the local brothers have talked to some of the family members who oversee selling the property on behalf of the whole family. They desire to sell it to us and are very favorable toward us. They told us that it makes them happy that we are buying it for the church s use and it makes them feel good that the name of the Lord will be called on this property. They are Orthodox Christians and two of them are regenerated believers. They all feel better to sell it to the use of the Lord than to a business. Existing Building: A two-floor residential building with service quarters with about a total of 837m2 exists on the property. We plan to renovate the interior of this exiting building and could be used for offices for the work or residence for some serving ones. Land Use Plan: The city government s master plan permits to erect a mixed Use multi-story Building. Thus, we can use this property for church meetings and training purposes, with dormitories and offices. Building Permit Requirement: If we are to erect new building on this site, the minimum requirement will be 2 stories and the maximum allowed is 35 stories. Satellite Coordinates: 8 56 54.82 N, 38 45 29.87 E

Proposed Development on the Property: we plan to build a meeting hall with a seating capacity of 800-1000 saints, a training center with dormitories, blending and hospitality center for saints during international and continental trainings and conferences. This property will also serve as a center for the furtherance of the Lord s move in Africa. As the work among the African Students in China is growing, we feel Ethiopia will serve as a gateway to help these students gained in China to have a smooth transition into the church life in the continent and to bring in the Lord s recovery into countries where we do not have the Lord s testimony yet. Price of the Property: Market price: 3, 500,000 (USD) Selling price: 2, 556, 000 (USD) Payment Plan: The Payment plan which the owners proposed, and which is commonly practiced in the country is to pay a certain percentage as a down payment until the title deed is transferred. Once title is transferred legally full payment should be made. This whole process could be finalized in two months or less. Down Payment: The seller is committed to sell this property to us. She expects a down payment of $ 365,000 by June 15 to firm up the contract. Full payment should be made within two months of the initial down payment to complete the transaction. The Church in Addis Ababa will raise at least $ 100,000 for this purchase. We present this to the Body for the consideration and prayer of the Body. Please pray for this transaction and for the Lord s will to be done. If the Lord so burdens you to give for the purchase of this property you may use the following bank information to wire the gifts.
