ST MARY STAR OF THE SEA PARISH SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT DECEMBER 10, 2017 MASS SCHEDULE ST. MARY STAR OF THE SEA CHURCH CLOSED FOR THE SEASON HOLY SAVIOR CHURCH SUNDAY AT 7AM, 8:30AM & 10AM MONDAY THURSDAY AT 8:30AM SATURDAY VIGIL AT 5:15PM CONFESSIONS AT 4:15-5:00PM Mission Statement We the people of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Ocean City, Maryland, want to respond to God s love for us by doing His will, to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to love each other as Jesus loved us. In this way, He can live, as Risen Lord, in our midst and attract all people to the Father. As part of the Church, we want to be a Home and School of Communion where, through the celebration and living out the Sacraments, and various ministries, each member can live in unity as a child of God, building up the Kingdom of God until Jesus will come again in glory.

Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word. (Lk 1:38) Dear Friends and Parishioners: Today we light the second candle of our Advent wreath; the one who is coming wants to change our night into the brightest day. He comes in our own lifesituations in order to help us and to strengthen us to change them. This week, we hear a voice crying out in the desert: Prepare the way of the Lord. Another challenge, another opportunity to proclaim, by the way we live, the Good News: God is coming to visit us; we know that every visitation requires preparation. Now, we are asked to prepare the way! The Lord s glory to comes to us constantly. It runs through our streets, into our homes, in our relationships, like a stream of miracles and life. We, at times, forget how to see the signs of its presence, and we also let life create impediments. The Lord comes; but only if we smooth the road and straighten the paths. We are called to fill up the valleys, and lower the mountains. At this time, we want to look at our lives and wonder, what is it that I have too much of? What is it that I have too little of? What can I do so that the path will be smooth? This is an invitation to listening and recollecting out thoughts. This is a chance to let God visit us in a transforming way; this is a simple and sure way to make His presence more real in our homes.. December 16 th : At the 5:15pm Mass, our younger parishioners will lead us through Las posadas. Please be aware of the schedule of the Liturgical celebration at Christmas.
