St. Andrew United Methodist Church Rev. Jeff Childress July 8, 2018 Seventh Sunday After Pentecost

ENTRANCE AND GATHERING Welcome and Grace of Hospitality *Bringing In the Light of Christ and Opening Praise Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) *Call to Worship (responsively) Just as God called King David so long ago, and just as Jesus called his disciples, each one of us is called to speak and act on God s behalf in our world today. Forgive us, Lord, when we are hesitant to follow: when we question Your call, or make excuses for our abilities; when we complain about our lack of time, or hoard our resources. Give us ears to hear Your call to us this day, and give us courage to step out in faith, to go where you send us without hesitation or fear, trusting that Your presence goes with us, and that You will provide all that we need. *Hymn No. 568 Prayer of Approach (in unison) Christ for the World We Sing Lord of heaven and earth, of all nations and peoples, reveal yourself, we pray. Reveal yourself this very day to those who are suffering, to all who are refugees, to those who are powerful, and to all who are powerless. Reveal yourself to ordinary people like us in our everyday lives, that this world might reflect your love and your glory. Amen.
