A place for faith and fellowship with family and friends. Rev. Mike Winters Pastor Ben Harding Music Director Dr. Ray Jones, Jr. Pastor Emeritus WISE BAPTIST NEWS Dear Church Family and Friends, A PUBLICATION FOR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF WISE BAPTIST CHURCH Small things make a difference. For example, my newsletter greeting says, Dear Church Family and Friends. Removing one letter, the r from friends changes it to fiends! Small things. Jesus says to the two disciples (Matt. 21:2), Go to the village you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. Two disciples walk one mile from Bethpage to Bethany, get the donkey and colt and walk back. This takes less than an hour. Jesus sat on one of those animals as He rode into Jerusalem. Riding on a donkey was the act of a king. Jesus declares that He is the King. He is the Messiah. He is the long-awaited Savior. Two disciples. Two donkeys. Small things. Small things that are big things. Our daily Christian walk is often about small things that are really big things. Praying for someone. (Incidentally, when we tell someone we will pray for them, try praying with them right then. It has extra meaning. Even in a public setting, we can step to the side and bow for a quiet prayer.) A hug. Sometimes a hug to someone who is hurting speaks volumes. A written note. A note is very personal. It can be kept and read over and over. A delivered casserole. Someone who has been ill may not feel like preparing a meal. A meal delivered with love (and a prayer) means so much. A phone call. Again, it is a personal way of extending the love and grace of God. A word of testimony. Share with someone how God has blessed you. Small things. It is these small things God uses to show His love in a great way. Look for ways to attend to the small things for God. Love, Pastor Mike How to Join Wise Baptist Church: Express one of the following to the Pastor during the closing hymn: Transfer of Letter Transfer membership to Wise Baptist Church Baptism Desire to express faith in Christ through baptism Statement of Faith Baptized believer not on a membership roll Watch Care Desire to be connected to our Church family without official membership March 20, 2018 Important Dates Craft Day for OCC March 24, 2-4pm Flowering the Cross April 1, 10-11am EASTER SERVICE April 1, 11am Resurrection Eggs Presentation April 1, 11am Church Directory Mtg April 4, 4:30pm Deacons Meeting April 8, 8:30am Holy Communion April 8, 11am Inside Announcements Pages 2-3 BDays/Anniv.
