When I Survey The Wondrous Cross
When I survey the wondrous cross, On which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, Save in the death of Christ, my God; All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood.
See, from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down; Did e er such love and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a crown?
Were the whole realm of nature mine, That were a present far too small; Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my soul, my life, my all.
THE CALL TO WORSHIP Based on Psalm 24;1-5 [ Pastor / CONGREGATION ]
Minister: The earth is the LORD s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, People: For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
Minister: Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in His holy place? People: He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION
Corporate Prayer of Confession (from 1 John and Psalm 51) ALL: You, O Lord, have promised, that if we will confess our sins You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins.
We come in penitence seeking Your forgiveness, that we may know the joy of Your presence, and the light of Your face. You alone know how often we have offended You, and hurt the lives of others.
Forgive us, O Lord, for every unkind thought, every untrue word, every wrong act. Forgive us, for we have been selfish, and have not thought of the needs of others. Forgive us, for our ingratitude, our neglect of prayer,
our carelessness in the use of money, our forgetfulness of our sacred vows. O God, have mercy upon us. Create in us clean hearts, and renew a right spirit within us, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Assurance of Pardon (Psalm 51.17) Minister: The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. This is the good news of the gospel! Receive the grace of God. The peace of the Lord be with you always People: And also with you.

They ll Know We Are Christians Hymn # 429
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord. We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord. And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.
And they ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love Yes, they ll know we are Christians by our love.
We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand. We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand. An together we ll spread the news that God is in our land.
And they ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love Yes, they ll know we are Christians by our love.
We will work with each other, we will work side by side. We will work with each other, we will work side by side. And we ll guard each one s dignity and save each one s pride
And they ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love Yes, they ll know we are Christians by our love.
All praise to the Father, from whom all things come. And all praise to Christ Jesus, His on-ly Son. And all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one.
And they ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love Yes, they ll know we are Christians by our love.
Proclamation of Scripture: (Matthew 5.14-16) ALL: You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
