Mt. Zion Church of Ontario South Campus Statement to Read before Leading Responsive Reading Acts 2:41-47 (NASB) Good Morning! Our theme for 2018 is Living for God-Sized Results! Join me in reading the refreshing teaching from Jesus, regarding living for God-sized results. Minister 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. Congregation 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Minister 43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. Congregation 44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; Minister 45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Everyone 46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. 3

IT S ALL GOOD (GOD S PROMISES ARE AN ANCHOR FOR THE HOPE WITHIN) Romans 8:26-29 Pastor Otis Adams I. It s all good because every called person who loves God has a divine prayer partner (v. 26-27). A. God s Spirit takes our wordless sighs and turns them into prayer on our behalf (Rom. 8:26-27, Mark 7:34) (MSG). II. It s all good because every pain has a promise (v. 28). A. God can (Jer. 32:17) (NIV). B. God controls: He will never let us be pushed past our limits (1 Cor. 10:13) (MSG). C. God s test are designed to do us good (Deut. 8:15-16) (NKJ). III. It s all good because every pain has a purpose (v. 29). A. Pain perfects us (1 Pet. 4:1-2) (MSG). B. Pain powers us (2 Cor. 12:7-10) (MSG). C. Pain prepares us for ministry (2 Cor. 1:3-4) (MSG). Personal Prayer: Father, we thank you that all of your promises to us are yes in Christ Jesus. They are an anchor for the hope we have within. In this fallen world we will have pain, problems and persecution, but because of your faithful promises there is a promise for every circumstance we find ourselves facing in this life and therefore we are able to hold on and hold out in prayerful peace. Therefore, let us not lean to our own understanding, but always trust you to straighten out our path and help us to see our way through. In Jesus name we pray Amen. 8
