From the President Dear Congregants, Farmers and gardeners the world over know that the health and abundance of this year's harvest depends to a great extent on the work that has been done to tend and enrich the soil. Tending the soil involves many steps plowing, disking, fertilizing, seeding, watering. Sometimes a field is planted with a cover crop and left for a whole season. Some cover crops will choke out weeds, others add valuable nitrogen, and all of them, when plowed back into the land, add bio-mass, which aerates and enriches the soil inviting in worms and all the micro-organisms that make for a healthy environment in which plants can flourish. It seems to me that the past few months have been something like that. We have decided on the qualities we wish to see in our new minister akin to looking through the seed catalogs and deciding what veggies and flowers we want to grow. We have cleared the ground, working on ourselves through processes like The I of the Storm recognizing that the nasty weeds we encounter are not against us, but have something to tell us about the quality of our soil, the elements that may be lacking and what minerals may be needed to bring us back into a happy PH balance. We have done more work through The Q Process plowing deeper to break up old, deep hard pan. We have planted our cover crop of positive thoughts and actions, have waited for it to mature and then plowed it back in to enrich and enliven our soil. Now we are finally ready to take the next steps in our transition process. Right at this moment, as I write, I remember the delight I have always felt when looking at a freshly plowed and disked field. I feel a sense of satisfaction, of work well done, even though there is yet more work to do. And this is where I sense we are as a congregation, we are clear, fresh and ready to welcome our new minister whoever she or he may be. Someone who is already out there, waiting to be planted in our fertile soil. Our Minister Packet is on its way to Unity Worldwide Ministries and soon we will be looking through resumes... more work to do, but the harvest is in sight. We are ready! When Rev. Denese joins us again in September, we will be working on our Mission, Vision and Core Values. These are our statements of who we are, what we strive for and what we ll refer back to in everything we do. Please join us on Saturday, September 8 th from 9:30am 3:30pm (lunch provided). You re voice is important for the future of our center. With appreciation for all that you do and all that you are, We are called by a loving God to claim our divinity; to honor each person as God s beloved; to grow in spiritual understanding; and to transform our world through service. 10:30 am Another month of great guest speakers thanks to our Speaker Team!! Guest Speaker: Rev. Evin Wilkins No matter how many degrees we have or the type of education we have received, there are some things that only life can teach us; lessons that we can only learn in the school of life. We must first become still and then realize that we have choices, choices in the way we see things, the way we react to things, the way our future unfolds, and the way we allow our circumstances to define both our lives and ourselves. It's called, "Life University" and I invite you to grab your pen and paper, and a front row seat. Guest Speaker: Rev. Denese Schellink Ideas: Basic to Unity s teachings is that the Christ in Jesus exists as a potential calling to be awakened and developed in each of us. Jesus initiated a movement to transform human nature and the world through the shared spiritual awakening of human beings. (the Kingdom of God/ Heaven is within/amongst us and is a future we are called to create for humanity). This transformation of humanity is a movement and everyone who is awake to their own Christ nature knows in their heart how crucial and how promising this movement is to humanity. Are you ready to take your place within fulfilling the Mission? Guest Speaker: Marilyn Freed Gratitude is often considered as one of the steps to use when we are studying prosperity. But lets take a deeper look and see how it can transform our self-esteem, our relationships, and yes, our very lives. Guest Speaker: Music Ministry Music, singing, clapping & fun! Don t miss it! Guest Speaker: Prayer Ministry Come join us for a fun and spiritually juicy event!! The Prayer Team is planning a prayerful and fun Lesson (and Workshop after service) that will aid one in losing oneself in the present moment, dissolving into the joy of Oneness.

Visiting Friends Visiting Friends are a group of members from Unity who stay in touch with congregants who are not able to attend, whether it be temporarily or long term. They are not there to pray with them or to fix them, just to say hello and let them know their spiritual community is thinking of them. Aligning my mind and heart with the mind and heart of God, I center myself in Pure Being. In a state of spiritual realization, I remember I can never be broken, limited, or unworthy. Courageously, I rise into my true spiritual nature in this moment of healing. I heal the whole of me as I accept that I am brave. I am bright. I am beautiful. As I heal in body, mind, and spirit, I support healing in my family, community, the earth, and the world. Centered in Pure Being, I am a healing presence. Unity Spiritual Life Center will be collecting your list of names in the weeks before September 13. Members of the Prayer Ministry will be gathering in a circle in the sanctuary on Thursday, September 13, from Noon 2:00pm in the afternoon. We will prayerfully speak aloud the names and ask blessings on each name and then the lists will be sent to Silent Unity where they will be held in prayer for 30 more days. The sanctuary will be open during that time and everyone is invited to join us for the entire time, or even just a few minutes. Your presence will be our blessing and celebration.
