A Vision for Son Valley Fellowship Vision Objectives for 2018-2020 I. CHURCH NURTURE To nurture our spiritual renewal and growth, bringing a deeper relationship with and commitment to Christ. A. By preaching practical and relevant Christ-centered messages every week. B. By facilitating and supporting spiritual small groups for two seasons of the year in the Spring and Fall. C. By having weekly Vespers programs for our youth on Friday nights. D. By having a special all-ages Children s Church Service in the fellowship hall every 5 th Sabbath. To ensure the Sabbath Worship Service of our Church is relevant and engaging. A. By re-evaluating the order of service each year. B. By introducing Sharing Time once a quarter. C. By involving our youth in a service once a quarter by 2020. D. By developing a Visitors Welcome Package and Prayer Team. To increase the average Sabbath attendance by 12% by December 2020. A. By announcing and promoting special services and service direction. B. By encouraging more variety in our Sabbath Worship Services. C. By keeping attendance statistics each week. D. By gaining awareness and understanding of missing/inconsistent Church attendees.

II. CHURCH SOCIAL LIFE To promote fellowship and a sense of belonging within our Church Family. A. By having an active Social Committee which has a calendar of events for each quarter of the year. B. By having an active Youth Committee which has a calendar of events for each quarter of the year. C. By having a HeBrews event to build fellowship with unchurched people. D. By having a special/holiday Church Service once a quarter. E. By having two GUESS WHO S COMING TO SABBATH DINNER? programs each year. F. By having a Pictoral Church Directory. III. INVOLVEMENT IN OUR MISSION AND MINISTRY To encourage personal involvement in our Mission and Ministry. A. By holding personality and spiritual gifting workshops in the first quarter of the year every 3 years. B. By identifying and creating opportunities for service based on spiritual gifts. C. By recruiting and empowering leaders for specific ministries. D. By emphasizing the vision, mission and goals of the church from the pulpit and Welcome Team.

To provide training experiences for ministry and service. A. By conducting foundational training for each ministry in the Spring and Fall. B. By encouraging continual growth and learning opportunities. C. By providing support for an annual training session/conference for a different ministry each year. D. By introducing resources for feedback and check-ins for ministry leaders and volunteers. To create and maintain sustainable ministries. A. By holding bi-annual Ministry Health potlucks to gather feedback and provide support. B. By establishing a Ministry Health Manager to periodically check-in with ministry leaders. C. By encouraging a culture of looking out for each other. To have our church membership involved in the worship service of the church. A. By involving different members and leaders in point and community connections. B. By having a worship feature to introduce new worship songs to the congregation. C. By having a monthly in-person/video testimony or story spotlight. D. By having a quarterly drama feature for the worship service by Fall of 2018. E. By facilitating a session of Art and Worship during the worship service at least once a year.

To help guests feel a part of our church fellowship. A. To establish a rotating roster of Sabbath Lunch hosts to invite visitors. B. By training our Welcome Team to connect visitors to the Sabbath Lunch hosts. C. By challenging the congregation to greet and welcome people they aren t familiar with. D. To encourage new members to join the Welcome Team in greeting. E. To establish a help desk/exiting team led by the point person to connect with people as they leave. IV. RECLAIMING INACTIVE MEMBERS To contact inactive members through personal visits and invitations. A. By developing an accurate list of currently inactive members. B. By establishing a Visitation Ministry Group to visit, survey and encouraging inactive members. C. By having members personally extend invitations to our special programs, socials, and recreational programs. D. By communicating periodically through phone calls, texts, e-mails, and/or social media.

V. CHRISTIAN FAMILY To support and nurture a healthy Christian family. A. By promoting family and private worship each day in every home. B. By providing resources, support and an annual parenting workshop. C. By creating awareness for mentorship needs among kids and youth. D. By designating February as Family Life Month and preaching that month on Family Topics. E. By establishing a list of Birthdays to celebrate during the service on a bi-weekly basis. VI. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION To promote Christian education for our families and children. A. By continuing to support Okanagan Christian School through finances and volunteer work. B. By involving OCS students in a special worship service twice a year. C. By promoting and supporting OCS fundraisers, events and programming.

VII. COMMUNITY OUTREACH To create awareness of the existence of Son Valley in our community. A. By researching already existing organizations and programs and identifying needs and service parameters. B. By encouraging participation and volunteering through community organizations. C. By encouraging Son Valley members to invite unchurched friends to church programs and events. D. By having at least 4 special Sabbath events a year to invite friends, family, and community leaders to attend. E. By promoting and using our live-streaming service to reach community members. To provide seminars and workshops of interest to the community. A. By working together with constituent churches to promote seminars and programs. B. By providing Introductory Financial Planning seminars once a year. VIII. PERSONAL AND PUBLIC EVANGELISM To spiritually nurture unchurched and new members. A. By creating a culture of seeker-friendly services. B. By providing spiritually focused events and programming to invite unchurched people. C. By holding church membership classes at least once a year to educate new members about Son Valley and what it means to be a member.

To involve our membership in the mission and evangelism outreach of the church. A. By holding baptismal classes for youth and children twice a year. B. By educating members how to effectively give and lead Bible Studies. C. By having membership-driven Bible classes. IX. STEWARDSHIP To develop a culture of healthy Biblical stewardship. A. By developing an annual budget. B. By explaining the Giving Plan and the Combined Church Budget to the members. C. By having a series of sermons on Stewardship in the month of November. D. By continuing to provide regular updates on our finances to the entire congregation. E. By advertising and promoting the Love Offering
