W h y D e n v e r? Denver is magnificent a city unlike any other. Dubbed the Queen City of the West, 2.7 million people call this place home. In fact, Colorado is the third fastest growing state in the last decade, as thousands of people relocate each year hoping to enjoy the outdoor life in God s premier playground. With 88-95% of the population not attending an evangelical church, there are many who are living without the hope of life beyond the grave, without the presence of God in their lives. Being the 2nd most educated city and one of the fastest growing, there is phenomenal opportunity to impact not only a Western capital, but an entire nation and world. G e t t i n g T o K n o w O u r Ta r g e t A r e a : A r va d a The target area for Storyline Fellowship is Arvada, Colorado. This beautiful northwest suburb of the Mile High City retains a smalltown feel even with its estimated population of 108,530. Established in 1870, Arvada enjoys a rich history, quiet tree-lined neighborhoods, and a robust mix of business. The specific focus for Storyline Fellowship will be the Five Parks region of Arvada, a rapidly growing area with an enormous amount of new construction. Within these freshly developed spaces, there is only one church (Lutheran), which calls for the gospel to intersect with these new families in this time of transition.
S t o ry l i n e F e l l o w s h i p A new church launch in Denver T h e S t o r y B e g i n s In the summer of 2013, Ben and Lynley Mandrell experienced a mountaintop moment together. As they stood at a scenic overlook in Denver, praying and seeking direction for their lives, they felt a call to step out in faith and to start a new church in Colorado. Within weeks, Ben resigned his growing church in Jackson, Tennessee and led his family to re-plant their lives in Arvada, Colorado, a northwest suburb of Denver.. Ben and Lynley believe in the Send North America vision NAMB s strategy for advancing the kingdom of Jesus Christ through an aggressive church planting movement (www.namb.net/cities). This strategy targets the major cities of North America, and the Mandrells felt compelled to go to Denver, planning a launch in early 2015. As the Mandrells began sharing their story with others, the Holy Spirit was on the move, drawing others to join in. A diverse team began to take shape, as families and individuals made the commitment to restart their lives and to form the seed of this new plant. The name Storyline Fellowship was selected in one of the early prayer gatherings. As they stood at a scenic overlook in Denver, praying and seeking direction for their lives, they felt a call to step out in faith and to start a new church in Colorado.
he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us. W h y S t o r y l i n e F e l l o w s h i p? Our name explains our strategy. We believe that God created every person for a reason to enjoy and to live in fellowship with Him. The Lord has called all people everywhere to turn from godlessness and to serve the risen Savior, Jesus Christ. According to His own mysterious will, God meant for each person to appear and to fulfill his or her role in His grand story. As the Apostle Paul declared on Mars Hill, He gave all men life and breath and everything else, and now stands ready to receive every lost son or daughter searching for the way home (Acts 17:25-27). Reaching out to the lost is our passion. For reasons unknown to us, God uses people to reach people. He makes missionaries out of willing men and women. In Denver, Storyline Fellowship will exist to build meaningful relationships with the lost, to model a life of peace and love, and to boldly share the life changing story of God s grace with those willing to hear. As the Storyline team grows and prepares for launch, a great sense of anticipation is felt among us. We hope that you will join us in this journey, investing in the mission, as God guides and directs you. Acts 17:25-27
