Training for Eternity VENICE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL September 17, 2015 The Lion s Roar Dates to Remember Hello Families! Friday, Sept. 18th MS Girls Volleyball vs. Sarasota Christian, 4:00pm at VCS Monday, Sept. 21st Cross Country Meet VCS & Epiphany Christian at Oscar Scherer State Park Tuesday, Sept. 22nd MS Girls Volleyball vs. Community Christian, 4:00pm at CCS Thursday, Sept. 24th MS Girls Volleyball vs. Epiphany Cathedral, 4:00pm at VCS Thursday Oct. 1st Family Fellowship Night 6pm pizza in Lion s Hall 6:30pm meeting in Gym There are so many fun things happening at VCS and we want you to be a part of it! The best way to stay connected is to plug in as a volunteer. We realize that families are busy and may not be able to come onto campus to volunteer. There are many at-home opportunities. Consider joining our Prayer Ministry Team which is led by Maria Myburgh, one of our parent volunteers! Scripture calls us to be devoted to prayer (Romans 12:12) - it also promises us that God answers our prayers. Here at VCS we have a prayer ministry that gives YOU the opportunity to pray for your CHILD and their classmates, also for their teacher and the rest of VCS. This is something that you can do AT HOME, or anywhere you meet with the Lord. You can do it on your time schedule. Once you sign up you will be assigned a class to pray for - it will be a class that one of your children is in. Once a week you will get a prayer sheet that will guide you through some scripture, a time of confession, thanksgiving, and then intercession for the kids in the class, their teacher, and the other parents of the class with scripture as basis. If you do this completely it will require about an hour a week. This does count for volunteer hours. We do realize that life is busy, and not all weeks are the same - but I do promise that spending this time praying over your child, classmates and teacher will have eternal results, and I pray that it will also bless you. We hope to have at least 2-3 parents per class - this way you also cover each other in prayer, for those weeks where you need the prayer. ;-) When you sign up I will need your name, your student(s) grades and your email address. (I will also need a phone number - but will only use it if I can't read your email address.) All communication is by email, you will get an weekly e-mail with prayer letter and sheet. Whenever an urgent prayer need arises in the school you will get an email. Our biggest need is for all the younger classes - so if you are a parent of VPK, K, or 1st-5th Grades, won't you please consider this very important ministry. If you have any questions, please contact me at cliffmaria@msn.com. If you have already signed up - thank you!!!! In Christ Maria Myburgh
