Vision of the Archdiocese of Brisbane Faith & Life is a vicariate of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane. Established on 1 January 2005, it has been commissioned by the Archbishop to provide pastoral services in faith, ministry and mission development for deaneries and parishes. Faith & Life assists deaneries and parishes to live out the archdiocesan Jesus Communion Mission vision and the nine archdiocesan priorities promulgated at Synod 2003 by offering pastoral services in the areas of: adult faith education youth and children s ministry pastoral liturgy ministry and community life everyday Christian mission Faith & Life is also responsible for the operation of several ecclesiastical organisations. In addition, it collaborates with and supports the Archbishop and a range of archdiocesan commissions and councils in areas relevant to its focus. Faith & Life operates primarily from The Catholic Centre, 143 Edward Street, Brisbane. Other sites are also identified within this brochure. Embracing Jesus and his vision this is about our spiritual growth knowing and following the person, vision and way of Jesus Christ. Building Communion with God and others this is about our relationships creating bonds of understanding, respect, love and shared commitment within and beyond our Church. Engaging in Jesus Mission in the world this is about making a difference in the world promoting the reign of God in today s world by living the vision of Jesus in everything we do in relationships, family, work and society. Priorities of the Archdiocese of Brisbane Jesus that Catholics embrace the person and vision of Jesus Christ that young people are helped by a set of faith development opportunities to integrate their faith with everyday experience Communion that parish liturgy becomes more vibrant, meaningful and inclusive that parishes are welcoming, inclusive communities to which people are drawn and have a strong sense of belonging that parish pastoral leadership is promoted, supported and resourced at all levels that parishes accept, value and use the initiative of small groups to nurture and support people on their faith journey Mission that Catholics recognise and value the impact of their everyday Christian living on building a better world that the person and message of Jesus and the works of the Church are effectively communicated in wider society that a deep awareness of and commitment to social justice and social welfare are characteristic of Catholics throughout the Archdiocese

Everyday Mission The Everyday Mission team provides advice, resources and training to assist deaneries and parishes support Catholics in their personal and communal Christian mission in the world.
