Contributions to the Savior Luke 8:1-3
In Memory WE NEED EACH OTHER Near Needles
We Need Each Other A Rooster without a Hen = no omelets. Kelloggs without a Farmer = No Corn Flakes. If the Nail Factory closes, what good is the Hammer Factory? A cracker maker will do better if there is a cheese maker. Just as Rogers needed Hammerstein, somebody needs you.
1 Cor. 12 (Selected Verses) 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6 And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all {persons.} 12 For even as the body is one and {yet} has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
One for all and all for One 1 Cor. 12 (Selected Verses) 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; or again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." 24a-25 But God has {so} composed the body that there should be no division in the body, but {that} the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if {one} member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it.
Col. 3:23-25 23 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men; 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. 25 [Conversely], For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.
Jesus Said in Mark 9:41 For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as {followers} of Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. Heb. 6:10 - God will not forget [a service] done in His name
Tomb of the Unknowns The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; it has never been officially named.
Matt. 26:13 "Truly I say to you, wherever this Gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done shall also be spoken of in memory of her."
Women Contributors The twelve were with Him and some women Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who were contributing to their support out of their private means.
Jesus Physical Needs Luke 9:58 And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air {have} nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."
Victory In Jesus I heard an old, old story, How a Savior came from glory, How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me; I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning, Then I repented of my sins And won the Victory. O Victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever. He sought me and bought me With His Redeeming Blood; He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.
Your Contribution Isn t that why you re here? Isn t that why we are all here? [The whole Body ] To say Thank you. To say We love you. To say Is there anything I can do to contribute to Your ministry, Jesus?
Mary of Magdalena She was there during the ministry. She was there when Jesus is crucified. She was there when He was buried. She was there when He was resurrected.
Johanna, wife of Chuza Married to Herod s CPA. She too at the tomb on the morning of the resurrection. Her sense of duty did not end at the crucifixion, but continued afterward
The Widow s Might "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on."
Timothy s Mother/Grandmother And let's not forget the contributions of Lois and Eunice into the heart and mind of young Timothy 2 Tim 1:5 For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that {it is} in you as well.
Your Contribution and Mine Your contribution is NOT necessarily my like mine. We may possess totally different talents. We may contribute totally different services to the Body. As each of us provides OUR specific portion of the work and Worship of Christ here at this place, all of the needs of the family are met and Christ is indeed glorified.
Lassen St. Ladies Teaching Care-giving Fellowships Visiting Child-raising Service Projects Etc. Etc. Etc.
Your Contribution and Mine Christian service isn t for the few. It is for the Whole Body. It is for us ALL Rom 12:13 speaks of every member, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
2 Cor. 8:3-5 3 For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability {they gave} of their own accord, 4 begging us with much entreaty for the favor of participation in the support of the saints, 5 and {this,} not as we had expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us by the will of God. *Notice it s about money (a little bit); but mostly about them giving of THEMSELVES PERSONALLY to God.
