OCT. 03, 2017 THE CHURCH VISITOR importance of that love because we Recognize its source. Received and Recognize These have been the topics of our sermons the last two weeks: What we have Received (Talents, abilities, resources, everything we have) are gifts from God to be used for the work He calls us to do. We should have a desire to move closer and closer to God in order to more fully Recognize Him. We need to see God more clearly and undertake things that improve our focus on Him. If these two things become a way of life for us, then our lives will undoubtedly become an ever clearer reflection of God to the world in which we live. Received and Recognize!!! This Sunday, in line with our Stewardship Campaign, we will be talking of Response. Seeing how we respond to something is generally indicative of how we view what has been Received and how we Recognize the giver. If you have been married, often we are given rings as tokens of love we have received. It is meaningful because it represents love we have found. We understand the This is the time of year that we undertake a Stewardship Campaign and establish a Nominating Committee. We ask everyone to prayerfully consider how they can serve within the Body of Christ. So, to understand what you have Received and to Recognize who gave it all to you will certainly influence your Response. As you consider how you will serve, and what you will give, I ask you to pray about what you have Received throughout your life. Recognize it is our Creator, our Redeemer, and our Sustainer: the God of all who has given it to you. Let your Response speak to what you truly believe. Sunday, October 8, 2017 Sermon Title: Stewardship 301 - Response Sermon Text: Matthew 25:28-30 & 41-46 (New Living Translation) 3908 Ruth Road Richland Hills, TX 76118 (817) 284-8679 Senior Pastor: Paul Klaus Website: www.rhccdoc.com E-mail: info.rhcc@gmail.com

Please see Charles Mason for more details and to volunteer. Look for more information in the near future. Planting Seeds On December 10th at 5pm our choir will be performing the Christmas Cantata at Bethany Christian where Pastor Lisa is serving. I would like as many as possible from our church to consider going over to Dallas to support Bethany as well as our choir that evening. As we draw closer to the date, perhaps we can set up some car pools or even rent a van to get people over there. Something to think about well in advance. RHCC Stewardship In Mo<on New in the Sanctuary We are so blessed to have been gifted a Steinway Baby Grand piano by Barry Graham. A Little BRITE ness from Linda Hello from Linda Barnette. In this and future newsletters, I shall be sharing some tidbits from my Brite Divinity School experience, and some occasional wit & wisdom from the books that I read. To inaugurate my contributions to the weekly RHCC newsletter, I would like to share the Scriptures that guide my calling to Pastoral Care ministry: 1) Micah 6:8 - He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. 2) Romans 12: 4-13 - For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Blessings on your week. Linda Barnette INSTALLATION SERVICE FOR LINDA BARNETTE
