The vision of the church has always been about the future Jesus is going to return, the tribulation period, the New Jerusalem, and many, many more promises for the future. The future of local churches has always involved the mission and vision of the Bible and the obedience and determination of the membership. The vision never changes. We are to make disciples, baptize them, train them, and send them out to repeat the process. Why? Because we live in a fallen world and the answer to forgiveness and a new life for eternity is found in Jesus Christ. The world is changing fast. This change moves faster every year. It is tempting to hold on to the past. There is comfort in memories of better times. But that makes the church about us. The church of Jesus Christ has never been about us. The church was established and ordained by Jesus for the cause of Christ. We must faithfully and obediently, with determination and a sense of desperation, FOL- LOW CHRIST TO WIN OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR CITY TO JESUS CHRIST. We have no other calling.
