Sunday 12 th August 2012. Taqwa part 5 Sister Eman al Obaid www.alhudasisters.wordpress.com Part 5 Fruits of the Taqwa 1. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make your affairs easy 2. Protection from Satan 3. Showered with blessings 4. Guided to know truth from falsehood May Allah subhana wa ta'ala make us to acquire the knowledge and make the Ramadan knowledge increase our faith. The month of Ramadan is a gift from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. We are coming to the end of this month which is so dear to us. We want all the year, all the months to be the month of Ramadan. If you worship Allah subhana wa ta'ala only in the month of Ramadan the month of Ramadan will go. You are Abdullah, and Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the owner of all the months. Ibadah In the month of Ramadan Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make it easy for you to do the ibadah you cannot replace it with anything else. You have the obedience you feel you can do it, in the other months you don t feel you can do as much. Allah subhana wa ta'ala makes the ibadah easy for us in the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is one month only 29 / 30 days in which; You FOCUS on Allah subhana wa ta'ala and; you want to REACH Allah subhana wa ta'ala and; you want to OBTAIN Allah subhana wa ta'ala s pleasure. This is HikmatAllah, this one month suits us, not more and not less. Your Heart Outside of the month of Ramadan your heart is scattered. If you didn t find your heart in the month of Ramadan there is still time. When you gather your heart you will be among the Muttaqeen. The taqwa is the worship of the heart. Did you control your heart? If yes, thank Allah subhana wa ta'ala, If not, still there is time. Ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala for the help and Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make it easy for you. 1

Taqwa includes everything in your life. 3 factors of Taqwa are: - Ilm - Hope and Fear - To do and don t do I L M We need to know about: 1. Kufr, Shirk and Nifaq (Disbelief, Polytheism, Hypocrisy) 2. Bid ah (Innovation) 3. The Major Sins 4. The Minor Sins 5. The Halal 6. What we cannot avoid 7. You go to the good and leave the better with a condition Your heart is softer with the good go to the good. Sometimes you cannot find the khushoo you go to the good where you will benefit, where you find your heart. For example praying in the haram is better, praying at home is good (for women) as per the hadith. The Ulema said you can skip the better and go to the good. Everybody needs to take the shield according to their level you need to go gradually. Points 5, 6 & 7 are according to you you decide, you don t want the fitnah between people or confusion. Istighfirallah people are using this word incorrectly, out of anger, with their emotions. TThhee BBaat ttt ttl llee Make shukr - you always need to THANK Allah subhana wa ta'ala, you need to always REMEMBER Allah subhana wa ta'ala and you need to always OBEY Allah subhana wa ta'ala. The battle is in trials / sins, either you; Need to stay away You come close and leave it You jump over it Fruits of the Taqwa You will see the fruits of the Taqwa in your life, in the dunya. 1. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make your affairs easy. Chapter (65) sūrat l-ṭalāq (The Divorce) 54:4 And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease. 2

Before the taqwa you are in difficulty, confused. With the Taqwa Allah subhana wa ta'ala promised He will make it easy for you. Examples A man has gone on Umra the flight home is at Maghrib time. He wakes up 5 minutes before Salatul Asr. Should he go as the car is waiting or pray Asr? Should he pray at home or in the Haram? We have all probably been in a similar situation. Just believe in Allah subhana wa ta'ala. Were he to decide to take the car and leave he might get stuck in traffic. Make Taqwa, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make your journey easy. He prays and then leaves and there is no traffic on the way to the airport. You need to believe, it is a matter of faith. In life we miss so many acts of worship because of the time. You pray salat ul Isha, the Sunnah is pray two rakats sunnat after the fard, but you decide to first finish a task and then come back and pray the sunnat. What will happen - you will end up leaving the prayer altogether and also not doing the task you wanted to do. This is al Ikhtabar. You have to go out should I pray first or not pray. You will be late and decide not pray. Don t give up the ibadah to make time. You make taqwa. You want to send your daughter somewhere lots of complications, paperwork etc. You will ask someone but do not rely on this person. The ease is from Allah subhana wa ta'ala. When in a battle what will make you pray first, read the Qur an first etc. you need sabr, when you have taqwa with sabr you will have 2 things; Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make your affairs easy all the time; Patience You will be among Ahlul Taqwa you will have the honour of the People of the Taqwa In so many verses of the Qur an the Taqwa is associated with the patience. You need sabr and taqwa in all the different categories. For example from the bid ah - some people pray the shukr pray, or some people read a particular surah every morning. Taqwa from the bida a is very difficult. Sometimes the ease will come immediately and sometimes later it depends on you. When beginning in the guidance Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make it easy for you to keep you firm, to encourage you, to keep you motivated. For some the ease will come after a while Allah subhana wa ta'ala will plan and decide what is good for you. In which one will you be the winner? You will be a winner where you need more sabr and taqwa. I need to believe the ease will come. Don t be attached to the ease and forget the taqwa. Some people only make taqwa for the ease which is wrong. Remember you will only get the fruits after your roots are firm and you have the branches. Life is fast - everything in life is fast, this is a mushkilat which is dangerous as we want everything now, so where is the patience. And we get angry when we don t get want we want fast. The Ulema said when hastening to get something Allah subhana wa ta'ala will deprive you from it. For example people go in the wrong direction why? Because they don t have the patience. You feel you will be so happy when you get this house you hasten towards it. You will get it but there will be no happiness in it, no excitement. Every worldly thing is like this, so take things slowly. 3

2. Chapter (7) sūrat l-aʿrāf (The Heights) 7:201 Indeed, those who fear Allah - when an impulse touches them from Satan, they remember [Him] and at once they have insight. You need to have the taqwa but still shaitan may come and you will, remember this is wrong, remember that this is a whisper from shaitan. Sometimes you don t remember and keep going. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will give you the insight, Allah subhana wa ta'ala wants you to see the wrong, to be alert. Human beings have weak points. Shaitan loves our weak points. Shaitan will whisper to you according to your weaknesses. You don t even realise it. The Taqwa will give you the protection. In some situation in a gathering some people are backbiting someone you don t like, you like it and you participate. But if you make taqwa from one side Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make it easy for you to fight the shaitan. The more you are doing taqwa for different things this will accumulate, this will make you rich in your shield to fight the shaitan. When shaitan will whisper and you make taqwa, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will remind you. In Surah Yusuf when Yusuf was very close to falling into sin Allah subhana wa ta'ala reminded him. A reminder may come from somebody, anybody. The opposite you are having the taqwa and are being protected, but as soon as your taqwa decreases this opens the shield to the shaitan. For example you may not have taqwa in a small matter; the wife did not prepare the food the husband wanted so he shouted at her. His weakness is that he an angry person. If he did not have taqwa in other situations shaitan will make this weakness more in these types of situations. You are not having the insight into why this happened because of the small thing you did not care about. The problem is that we put everything down to our moods. We can defeat shaitan with taqwa and you can overcome your weaknesses. Your weakness is your anger you make taqwa, you want to scream but you hold yourself. But people will put obstacles in the way of you making taqwa, they will tell you if you don t let out your anger you will get a ill, get blood pressure, suffer from stress etc. Taqwa is the opposite of this. People think in order to relieve myself I need to destroy everybody else. Actually taqwa is making jihad, controlling yourself. If you believe in Allah subhana wa ta'ala, you will be muttaqeen, you will not get depressed. If you believe in the people, then this is how you will think. 4

Maybe you are having a bad day it will show in your behaviour. Have the taqwa and Allah subhana wa ta'ala will remind you, show you. Sheikh Saadi did one whole study just on the taqwa there are so many fruits in the dunya for taqwa so imagine what you will get in the akhirah. 3. Chapter (7) sūrat l-aʿrāf (The Heights) 7:96 And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; Believed and feared Allah subhana wa ta'ala you have knowledge of Allah subhana wa ta'ala, you love Allah subhana wa ta'ala, you have hope from Allah subhana wa ta'ala, you are having the taqwa. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will surely open for you; Open the barakat from the sama a and the ardh you will be showered with the blessings when you are Muttaqeen. The taqwa the action of the heart when you put the shield then Allah subhana wa ta'ala will give you the barakat in; something missing in your life - Allah subhana wa ta'ala will provide it for you or something you no longer have - Allah subhana wa ta'ala will return it to you For example if you were oppressed you can fight them through the courts or some kind of authority. But some people will react violently, or they will tell everyone they meet their story. They think by doing this they will get the justice, the revenge. It will not happen because you opened your mouth and talked about them. Or people will complain to their mother about their husband, then they complain to their sister, then to their in laws, then to their friends and then they go on live TV and complain. People may have a problem in school, they will complain to everyone but they should go to the person in authority and not talk to anyone about it who doesn t need to know. If you have a problem you don t need announce it to the whole Ummah. You will not get your rights by doing so. With the taqwa you won t talk to everyone and then the barakah will come. Opposite - When you don t have the taqwa you will announce it to everyone and the gates of the barakah will close. Why is everyone in the home fighting? The less taqwa you have the more the problems will increase. The rates of divorce have increased problems are because 5

there is no barakah. If you make the taqwa Allah subhana wa ta'ala will give you the provision, the blessing. You cannot always complain, especially about your husband. You need to be patient, be pleased and have taqwa. If you make taqwa not to complain, not to say anything, the blessings will come. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will change his heart, no one on the Earth can change the heart of anybody else, Allah subhana wa ta'ala is the changer of hearts. If you go to your mother what will she do? You make the taqwa. When you are working, or at home, wherever there are people there are exams, tests for the taqwa, to see if you muttaqeen or not muttaqeen. Tell yourself this is a temporary situation and Allah subhana wa ta'ala will give you more barakah. 4. Chapter (8) sūrat l-anfāl (The Spoils of War) 8:29 O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty. You will have; the light and the furqan. Sometimes you fall into a difficult situation, you don t know which path to take. But the more taqwa you have, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make it very clear for you. When you don t know what to make taqwa from, you say with your heart Ya Rabbi I want only Your Pleasure, Ya Rabbi I want to make Taqwa. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make the truth very apparent and you will go with that opinion, in that direction. Or if you are in the middle of a situation, Allah subhana wa ta'ala will make your tongue give the best advice. Allah subhana wa ta'ala will put the words of the good on your tongue, to say the right thing in the right place. We ask Allah subhana wa ta ala for His forgiveness and His Mercy. Anything that is good from these notes is from Allah subhana wa ta ala. Any mistakes & misrepresentations are my own. I ask Allah subhana wa ta ala for His forgiveness and to put forgiveness in the hearts of those who read them. JazakAllah Khairan. 6
