GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR WORSHIP TODAY Welcome to this service of worship. The pastor and other worship leaders have put a great deal of time, thought and effort into the planning and implementation of the service. It is their hope and prayer that the service will constitute a fit offering of praise unto Almighty God, and that it will serve God s purposes as he continues to work in the lives of his children. Ushers are available to assist you in any way during the service. They are wearing gold identification badges and are stationed near the exits during the service. For those with children, please note the following provisions for childcare during the service: care for infants to one year olds in the nursery; care for two and three year olds in room 21 (down the preschool hallway); children s church for children age four through second grade in room 26 (also located down the preschool hallway the children leave for this class with its leaders following the Children s Sermon in the worship service). An usher will be glad to help you locate these rooms either before or after the service. The worship service is recorded on DVDs and is available upon request through the church office. A manuscript copy of the sermon is posted each Monday on the church website (www.haymarketbaptistchurch.org). Visitors Please fill in the information below, tear off at the perforation, and place in the offering plate when it is passed. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Name: Address: Phone: E-Mail: I would like a call. ANNOUNCEMENTS Christian Sympathy We extend our condolences to Dan Kriss and his family as they grieve the loss of his daughter, Carolyn Burns. She died last Monday, June 20. Bulletin Cover Artwork The design on the front of the bulletin is a picture of a decorative mosaic in a church in Warton Woods, Missouri. The symbol is an ancient one depicting Christ as the Lamb of God, bearing the victory banner that signifies his defeat of the power of sin through his sacrificial death and mighty resurrection. Added to this version of the symbol is the reference to the scroll/book with the seven seals that only the agent of humankind s redemption may open (Revelation 5). It points to the role of the triumphant Christ as the one who is to judge humankind and bring in the kingdom of God. Paired with the symbol as a whole are the verses from Revelation5:12-13 which bring to clear focus the meaning of the symbol for our use on the worship bulletin cover in these days. Because of the magnificent work of the Son in carrying out humankind s salvation, God Father, Son and Holy Spirit is worthy to receive the fullest offering of worship the redeemed of the Lord may bring. All Christian worship is grounded in a celebration of Christ s work of redemption. Every Sunday is Easter Sunday. Prayers for Our Youth Our youth left this morning for PASSPORT camp. It is being held at Wingate University outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Chaperones are: Guerry Drey and Rev. Hensley. Campers are: Taylor Lambert, Erin Cafferty, Robert Wood, Charles Drey, Meredith Morgan, Ryan Bayol, Tyler Gass, Julia Hessenauer, Hunter Workman and Kerianne Gallagher. Please keep them in your prayers. Vacation Bible School VBS will be held July 25-29. The theme this year is The Big Apple Adventure. The workers are in preparation for this year s school so please be in prayer for them. Something New on the Website There is something new on the website. At the bottom of the homepage is an Our Daily Bread box that currently has a scripture passage for reflection. It changes daily, Monday through Friday. It will soon include other similar materials, such as quotes and prayers. The hope for this new feature is that church members and friends may turn to our website for devotional purposes. To this same end, don t forget that you can access the weekly sermon, monthly newsletter, and a parenting newsletter on the website as well.

TURN ON THE TAP Jesus said, Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him (John 7:38). He also said, Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life (John 4: 13-14). The Children in Action and Mission Friends have learned this past year about the importance of water to our world and to each of us. There are so many people who have contaminated water which causes disease and unhealthy conditions. Many have to walk miles each day to get this vital resource. With the recent devastation from the tornadoes in our own country, we can see and understand how problems can easily compromise water supplies. During the summer months, we are asking the church to join us in the campaign, Turn on the Tap. This is sponsored by Samaritans Purse, the same organization that sponsors the shoe boxes at Christmas. To participate, you will be given a bottle of water. After you have drunk the water, we ask that you fill it each day with coins to collect for Turn on the Tap. We will collect our offering throughout the summer and then bring the filled bottles to church in late August. The money we raise will make it possible to help purchase water filtration systems, fund the drilling of wells and provide education on hygiene. All of this will result in healthier lifestyles for families living overseas. It will mean so much to so many! Bernice Pearson
