Autumn Term Topics In the first two weeks we will be focusing on the Islamic way of greeting and supporting children to bond with their key workers and make friendships with peers. However once the children are settled we intend to cover the following topics this term: Story of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail (A.S)-We will be exploring these two great Prophets and the events that led to the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha. Hajj-The objective of this is to make our children aware of important Islamic landmarks and the rituals of Hajj. Prophet Muhammad (SAW)-We will learn about the significance of Rabi-ul-Awwal and the birth and life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Story of Prophet Eesa (A.S)-Through this topic children will be learning about the Islamic beliefs of this great prophet. All about me- We will be learning about our bodies, senses, growth and growing up, feelings and emotions, our family and others, health and hygiene (teeth, eating etc). Seasons Autumn- the objective of this topic is to create awareness about the changes in the environment and how Allah changes the environment for each season. This is just an overview of our topics. For more detailed information kindly refer to our weekly planning sheet on the parent notice board. Trips Park- We have regular visits to the local park. Children enjoy the outdoor experience and there are many opportunities for their physical and cognitive development. Library- We take the children frequently to the Stamford Hill library for a story session. This gives them an opportunity to explore books in a different environment. Late pick-up fee Please ensure that your child is collected on time. If for any reason you are going to be late, then please arrange with the nursery beforehand. A late coming charge will be applied to all parents that collect their children later than 10 minutes. For further details, kindly refer to our late coming policy. Special Moments Sheet: We encourage you to share special things that you observe your children doing at home such as, wearing their clothes or eating independently for the first time, or talking about a friend from nursery etc. Please support us by jotting down these special moments on the sheets provided by your child s key worker. This will enable us to work in partnership with you to help continue their learning and development.

Spare clothes: Please ensure that you provide spare clothes for your child in case of an accident. All clothes must be brought in a material or zipped bag. Plastic carrier bags will not be accepted as they could be hazardous for our younger children. Please label the bag clearly with your child s name. Please ensure that the bag does not have any animated figures as this goes against the nursery s Islamic ethos and prevents the angels from entering. In the instance of an accident, where your child wears nursery clothes, please ensure that you return it washed and ready to be worn again. Parent Involvement: We encourage parents to be more involved in the learning and development of the children. We would also like our children to become aware of different cultures and languages. This term we would like parents to come in for story reading in different languages. If you are able to support us with this then please speak to the manager or your child s key worker to make suitable arrangements. Islamic Nursery Rhymes this term Allah gave us eyes... Allah Ta alah gave us eyes, gave us eyes, gave us eyes. Allah Ta alah gave us eyes so we can read the Quraan. Allah Ta alah gave us ears, gave us ears, gave us ears.
