President s Message By Diane Ahonen It s another new year for ARC and many things point to a great year ahead. We have two new board members that are already able to contribute talent and ideas to the group, and we have a potential roster of presentations that should be brilliant. I think you re going to enjoy it. And, if you know anyone who is interested in any of our presentations, you can let them know that they can attend both our August 2017 and February 2018 presentations for as little as $35.00. Let me tell you a little bit about the August presentation. The topic is Acutonics. The presenter is Kimberly Hedden-Welch and the title of her presentation is As Above So Below: How Celestial Harmonies Heal Us." We will have a lecture and interactive discussion with Kimberly including healing theories, meridian and chakra energy systems and tuning forks. The group will finish with a gong meditation experience. Please bring a yoga mat or beach towel and dress comfortably because we are going to be laying on the floor. In order to assure that we have an adequate supply of handouts, if you plan to attend, please RSVP to Beth Schroder at beth@livingwell4health.com. The presentation will be held at the Malley Senior Center located at 3380 S. Lincoln, Englewood. The presentation will begin promptly at 6 pm, and has been approved for 3 hours of ARCB approved continuing education. I also would like to take a moment to congratulate Adrianne Fahey, who has been elected to the Reflexology Association of America Board. I hope they know how lucky they are. It is such a pleasure to wish Adrianne success in her new endeavor because the success of any of our members contributes to the success of all of our members. Congratulations! And thank you Adrianne for making us look good. That s it for me this time. Hope to see you August 8 at 6 pm. Diane 2

Free 3 CEU Workshop ARC is proud to present this Free 3 CEU Workshop (Current dues must be up to date to receive credit. Cost for Non-Members is $35.) Please join us: Tuesday, August 8, 2017 6:00 PM 9:00 PM As Above So Below: How Celestial Harmonies Heal Us Acutonics Healing System is an energy-based non-invasive treatment that is similar to acupuncture. Precision calibrated tuning forks are applied to specific acupuncture, acupressure and trigger points of the body to access the body s Meridian and Chakra energy systems. When the frequencies and intervals of Acutonics are applied to specific points and gateways the sound waves travel deeply into the body along energy pathways, affecting human physiology and reaching places not easily accessed by traditional medicine. This work is deeply transformational, it is relieving chronic and debilitating illnesses for which Western Medicine often has no answers. This workshop will provide an introduction to Acutonics, including healing theories, acupuncture, acupressure and trigger points, Meridian and Chakra energy systems, and tuning forks. We will experience the use of tuning forks and participate in a gong meditation. Location: Malley Senior Center 3380 S. Lincoln, Englewood CO 80113 303-762-2660 Presenter: Kimberly Hedden-Welch, MA, CMRMT, Gong Master Sound Healer Kimberly has an MA in Somatic Counseling Psychotherapy, which explores how emotions and core beliefs are expressed and revealed through the body. She has additional psychotherapy training in the release of trauma through the Sensorimotor Institute (Hakomi Somatics). She is also a Certified Medical Reiki Master Teacher, CMRMT. 4
A Few Words From Our New Vice President By Amy Ito Thank you for electing me to the Vice President position! I d like to share one of my current passions, in addition to Reflexology. I am a Tibetan Cranial (TC) apprentice and there is an upcoming event in Boulder at the Shambhala Center the weekend of July 21 - July 23, 2017, Friday evening through Sunday. Please go to our ARC website calendar http://www.reflexology-colorado.org/calendar.html for more information about this upcoming clinic in Boulder (45 minute sessions for $25). TC is a healing modality that originated in the Himalayan Highlands about 3,000 years ago. On Friday night, July 21, Teacher Shar Lee will hold a free discussion about how she learned this work and brought it with her to the West. She is the lineage holder of TC and the story is worth hearing from her directly! Known traditionally as Thoba Khujatag or skull moving, TC was historically transmitted orally from teacher to apprentice in a monastic environment in Tibet. Passed down through generations of deeply devout Buddhist monks, the practice was not just a form of Tibetan medicine, it also was considered to be sacred knowledge. Thoba Khujatag nearly became extinct after the destruction of these Tibetan monasteries following the 1950 Chinese invasion and subsequent occupation. TC practitioners use their fingertips to read hundreds of pulses on the recipient s head. With the pulses as their guide, practitioners touch specific points on the neck and bones of the skull, including the face, the back of the head, and the palate. As the practitioner applies gentle pressure, the pulses shift. The process continues until the pulses reach a place of balance. The practice is a disciplined approach, designed to re-align and restore our innate capacity for self-healing. Recipients report that TC has led to transformation on all levels of their being: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. To learn more please go to www.tibetancranial.org. If you miss the clinic and would like to try a Tibetan Cranial session please contact me directly to set up a time trifectareflexion@hotmail.com. 5
