Page 6// Hands & Feet: Clothing ministry update Camp Hope By: Mariah Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Last year was our first year of hosting a summer day camp at the Fountain on Farish! As most of our journeys with Jesus, it required lots of prayer and faith, stepping out into the unknown. At the same time, I remembered so many missionaries praying for the church to join us in serving the beautiful people of Jackson. Who would have thought that an answer to that prayer would look churches partnering with our family to host an incredible Jesus-filled summer day camp! As I was praying about what Jesus wanted Camp Hope to look like this year, one of our years olds that attends the Fountain every afternoon came up to me and said, "Ms. Mariah, what are we gonna do for summer camp this year, I loved when all the new people came every week and taught us about God." My immediate reaction was to look and see if an adult was over her shoulder, pushing her to say those things to me, but there wasn't. I'm thankful that God confirmed his plan through a little nine-year-old girl that day! We now have nine different churches that are partnering with us to share the Gospel through Camp Hope! Each week of camp will look a little different. Each team coming to help lead camp will come for different reasons. Each child attending will have their favorite song they've learned over the eight weeks. Each and every heart participating in Camp Hope will be changed, including mine! I couldn't be more excited! Join with me in prayer for our amazing Camp Hope partners. Some have participated in summer camp last year, while others will be coming to We Will Go for the very first time! It's such a joy to see the body of Christ come together to bring the Kingdom to Jackson, Mississippi! Pray with us as we kick off our first month of Camp Hope! I Wish I Could Tell My Dad My grandfather Hosie Lancaster died in 1977. He was a farmer and he and my dad, John, worked together for many years farming. I remember my dad often saying how he wished he could talk to his dad again after he had died. My dad was 48 years old when his dad died and they spent a lot of time together. For years I thought it was strange he said this so often. In 2013 my dad John died and I found myself feeling the same way he had talked about so often. When I see something he was interested in such as cows or farming, I think I wish he could see that. More often I have this thought when I wish he could see something I have accomplished, like all the people being touched each day downtown or how God is using the garden or the wood shop as a way to share Jesus love with people. All of us want someone to be proud of us and I think down deep inside all of us want our dad to be proud of us. The revelation that I can not call him this fathers day could be depressing or overwhelming but it is not. The feeling of wanting to be accepted has made me even more aware that my children and wife want the same acceptance and recognition that I am desiring. Being self aware has made me want to be part of their lives, to listen more intently to what they are going through and make more memories together. I want them to have the memory that I did hear them and I was proud of them. I want them to remember me saying, I am proud of you and I love you. I want to be a great dad for them. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Don t forget DAD June 18th!! Gift ideas for

Calling All Prayer Warriors! By Amy Lancaster Upcoming Mission Trips Mozambique - July Mexico - August Cambodia/Thailand - September Mozambique/Swaziland - November 2 Corinthians 1:11 "you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many. PRAY with us! We are so thankful for strong, faithful prayer warriors! So many of consistently stand on your knees with us! Words cannot express our thanks to you for loving and praying! Prayer still moves mountains every single day! Some specifics for you as you pray: pray for our team here at WWG, for souls to be born again, Godly wisdom to discern situations daily, deep healing for Jesus beautiful city of Jackson, for our elected officials and leaders, for WWG Camp Hope this summer, for provisions to meet each and every need, and pray for more LABORERS in HIS ripe harvest fields! Please email us your prayer requests and praises to: info@wewillgo.org. We will be so honored to pray and seek the Lord with you! JESUS is so worthy! I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and Grounds and Gardens Update by David Ketcher Spring is sprung, the grass is riz I wonder where the birdies is? Spring is well and truly here now! We have longer daylight hours and the temperature is definitely warmer. This means of course that EVERYTHING is now growing fast including all the weeds. So now we have to spend extra time dealing with the weeds and cutting the grass so the grounds look nice and tidy. The Community garden has been planted with Tomatoes, bell and jalapeño peppers, okra, snap beans, squash and zucchini! Take a look and you will see a field of green as they grow so rapidly with the irrigation twice a day and 'Miracle Grow' occasionally. Meanwhile the 'Hoop House' greenhouse was planted in March with a variety of tomatoes including heirlooms, green and purple bell peppers, both sweet and HOT jalapeños and some Basil. They are all doing well and as I write we have already picked our first ripe tomatoes and bell peppers! The two varieties 'Goliath and Better Boy' are prolific producers and we are expecting a bumper crop this year. 2016 summer was really good and we went to market with in excess of 800 lbs of tomatoes! I am hopeful of even better results this year and aim to sell up to 1000 lbs to local restaurants and food distributors in the greater Jackson area. We have trussed individual plants and put 3 to 4 support lines in the five rows of tomatoes and one string in two rows of peppers. We have one outside row next to the greenhouse for summer veg. I am hoping to employ some local neighbors in the gardens which will empower them and hopefully lead to a better life with future work and ambition. If you would like to volunteer to help nurture and tend to the grounds and gardens we are happy for you to do so, please contact info@wewillgo.org for more information.

By: Katelyn Scalese In 2010 God called me into missions. At the time I thought I knew what that would look like, but I had no idea. God has been so faithful every step of the way as He reveals more and more of what He's called me to. In the Fall of 2016 I started a ministry school with the organization my local church is a part of. Amy and David were our teachers for a week. Everything they said spoke directly to my heart. So during our spring break me and two other friends ended up on a road trip from Pennsylvania to Mississippi. I immediately felt this sense of home, and I knew Holy Spirit was saying something and I needed to pay attention. Before the trip was over I knew this is where I would be. I'm so excited to be a part of the We Will Go team, and a part of what God will do at Camp Hope this summer! By: Marilyn Allen Hi! My name is Marilyn and I come from England, via Norway. Like several others, I first heard about We Will Go while in Mozambique. I remember Amy Lancaster saying that God might call some of us to come and serve in Jackson with her. I was convinced that did not apply to me. I had been studying linguistics and translation and I was fairly sure that everyone in Jackson already had access to the Bible in their heart language. God had given me a gift for languages and I had been working on that. In Mozambique, I soon discovered that I did not possess a corresponding gift of instant, effortless adaptation to climatic, socio-economic and cultural variation across the globe. The need to work on character development became apparent. Fast-forwarding to Norway almost a year later, Linda (March newsletter) had recommended Amy to the Norwegian women s network. So I went to hear Amy speaking about loving your neighbor. Afterwards she prayed for me and I began learning what it looks like to love people in my neighborhood and city. The next year, Amy came back to speak at the women s conference. She talked about hearing God s voice and knowing His will for your life. She asked the question: If you could do anything in the world, what would you do? I went back to my hotel room and prayed and told the Lord that if I could do anything, I would visit We Will Go. When I visited, I was overwhelmed by all the good things I saw happening in Jackson. It seemed like there was still a need for more people to come and help, though. So I started praying and asking the Lord whether I was meant to come back. One of the words He gave me was from 2 Timothy: Run after mature righteousness faith, love, peace joining those who are in honest and serious prayer before God. Another version says: Follow anything that makes you want to do right. Pursue faith and love and peace, and enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. So I ve set out on this journey of following, pursuing and learning more about togetherness in beautiful community. WWG INTERNSHIP The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Matthew 9:37-38 Summer // 3 months Short Term // 6 months Long Term // 1 year+ Pastor // 2 years+ We love our neighbors and want to meet needs and share Jesus with those around us. Hands & Feet is a way we can spend time with each person who comes and pray for their spiritual needs as well as meet a physical need in the arena of clothing and household items. HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED AT HANDS & FEET? We always need volunteers. Youth groups or families are welcome. We d love to have your help, whether it s with sorting donations, counseling those who need assistance, volunteering your services downtown, or donating clothes to keep the racks stocked. If you have something to donate, please contact us to schedule a drop off. Our needs are seasonal, so it s always best to check the list of needs below and call the missionary in charge. Our biggest needs are: all Hygiene products: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, and men's and women's underwear all sizes. Men's summer clothing... (pants and shorts)all sizes for the season that we are in. Women's summer plus size clothing is needed. So many things happen in hands and feet as we get to take our neighbors back to give them food and clothing. We also get to talk to them and have a relationship with them. Please pray for each of our neighbors. Most of the time their needs are much greater than food or clothing. A lot of people just want to talk to feel the love of Jesus. We talk with Every person we take through, trying to make sure we establish s relationship with them letting them know how much they are loved By Jesus, How to We Will Go is a faith ministry, entirely dependent upon the generosity and responsiveness of the Lord s people to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. It is our joy and honor to share the love of Jesus with our neighbors, friends and visitors, for the purpose of making disciples for His glory. Many of our friends are very generous, both financially and through gifts and supplies they donate to We Will Go. We trust our Lord and Savior to speak to hearts to provide. He is faithful! Give online or by mail. See contact info below! We Will Go Ministries, 806 N Farish Street, Jackson, MS
