From the East 2013 Lodge Officers Dear Brethren, As I mentioned last month, November is the 210th anniversary of Mt. Holly Lodge #14. It also marks the night we elect next year's slate of officers. WB. Dan Adamo has agreed to assume the Oriental Chair for the 2014 Masonic year. Brothers Jon Soltesz and Dan Lynch will fill the Senior and Junior Wardens chairs respectively. Please come out and show your support for our new officers. I promise you special refreshments after the meeting. Brother Jon Soltesz, recently attended the Masonic Leadership Conference, held in Elizabethtown, Pa. and came back all fired up with some great thoughts. He will be giving a report on some of the concepts and strategies that were presented by the guest speakers and instructors. November 15th, Mt. Holly Chapter #147, OES will be honoring Master Masons at their regular meeting. They usually have a program and great refreshments after the meeting. If you have never been to a Star meeting before you will be required to take a short obligation ( which will in no way conflict with any you have already taken). It would be great to have a good showing to support the ladies as they do a lot to support our Lodge. Finally Brethren, November 28th we will celebrate Thanksgiving. I ask you not to look upon it as the start of the Christmas buying frenzy, but as our forefathers did. The time was a celebration of family, friends and the bounty that would help them survive the winter. It was also about the hope and promise of living free in a new country. I hope each of you will be able to gather with family and friends to give thanks to The Grand Artificer of the Universe for all that we have. Please say a special prayer and Thank You for all the men and women of our armed forces around the world, as they give of themselves to protect our Rights and Freedoms. I look forward to greeting each of you in Lodge. Bill Costello, WM Worshipful Master William T. Costello, Jr. 5 Aspen Court Eastampton, NJ 08060 609 261-6580 wtc3308@gmail.com Senior Warden Daniel C. The enclosed (sic) notice provides a summary of the 2014 scholarship program requirements. Note that the Grand Lodge of New Jersey offers two each of two types of scholarships through the William Mayer Memorial grants: One pays a student with a high school diploma $2,000 for two years towards an associate's degree; One pays a student with a bachelor's degree $2,000 for two years towards a graduate degree. Additional information and applications are available for downloading from the Foundation's website at www.njmasonic.org, as well as from the Grand Lodge's website at www.newjerseygrandlodge.org.
