The Trinity Truth Trinity Lutheran Church LCMS 13770 North Fountain Hills Boulevard Fountain Hills, AZ 85268 Making the most of Summer May 2010 Summer is now fast upon us. Already the temperatures are climbing. Soon it will be the full blown majesty of that season for which we are best known around the globe. Yes, the Valley of the Sun in all its glory will soon be ours. If this year is anything like last year, the monsoons will come and go, and we will all be wondering why it is Fall so soon, and where the time went. Without specific plans, time just seems to get away from us. Perhaps you are planning a trip up on the Rim. Maybe you have talked about getting out to see relatives in some other part of the country. There might even be a trip to see some exotic part of the State you've always wondered about. The plans may differ between us; but one thing remains true for everyone-if we don't make specific plans to get it done, it won't happen. In this Issue Elders 2 News Ddln. 2 Thank You 2 Calendar 3 Birthdays 4 Sunday Schl 5 LWML 5 Worship Time Change 6 Think of all the things you've talked about doing, but never got them on the schedule. They didn't happen, did they? Time just got away from us. We have to be more intentional in what we want to accomplish in order for it to truly happen. The same axiom is true in the Church and our spiritual lives. We have to be intentional in order for things to truly happen. Is there something you've wanted to study but haven't had the time? Now is the opportunity to make plans to begin. Is there an activity you've thought would be great to share with other members but haven't had the chance? This summer is perfectly suited to planning and executing it. Is there a habit you want to make a part of your life but haven't been able to get started? Now is the moment to set it into motion. Let's not let the precious gift of time given us by the Lord get away again. Plan to make the most of the opportunities you have this summer. It should be the best time of our lives. from the Head Elder It s that time of year when, with sadness, we bid adieu to our winter visitors. Some have already left and others will leave soon. These families add so much to our congregational life at TLC. We wish them well and look forward to seeing them when the weather turns cold up north. Have you noticed the beautiful flowers on the patio? Next time you see Terry Niederhaus, thank her for the hard work she puts in to keep them beautiful! The church picnic at Rio Verde Ranch is right around the corner. This is such a nice event in a great setting! Hope to see you there! There are several activities related to the Board of Elder responsibilities. In that regard, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bill Muehlhauser for his dedication in overseeing the Altar Guild and ordering the altar and communion supplies, Jeannie Edgren for her oversight and scheduling of the acolytes, Lois Lucas for her care of the elder and acolyte robes, Dianne Immenga and Lois Lucas for the care and placing of the banners and Fred Miller for his coordination and scheduling of the ushers. Well done to all of you! Roger Riggert Head Elder Many thanks to Peggy Peterson and Amy Heuer for organizing the EASTER EGG HUNT for our Sunday school children on Easter. It was loads of fun!
