Stewardship: A Way of Life Second Sunday of Easter Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, Peace be with you. John 20:19 Are you good at making people feel welcome? When you meet someone new, a new neighbor, a new work colleague, a new parishioner, do you make them feel at home? Many of us can probably do a much better job at this. When we make people feel welcome, we make them feel like they are included instead of being excluded. A simple hello and a smile goes a long way. Pray for the Sick Please keep these parishioners and family members in your prayers: Betty Daniels Jack Fagan Helen Goerke Austin Martin Brett Urban ST. TABLE AND CHAIR LENDING POLICY: Saint Mary Parish has had a long-standing practice of allowing tables and chairs from the Parish Center to be borrowed by parishioners for events at their homes, and many parishioners have taken advantage of this service. Unfortunately, this practice has not been without its problems. Damage has been done, sometimes beyond repair. Tables have even been left outside the center in the elements upon their return. Below are the policies as revised by the Pastoral Council on September 1, 2008. PLEASE NOTE: There are no tables available to borrow the weekends of June 7/8 and June 21/22. 1. Tables and chairs may be borrowed only by registered members of Saint Mary Parish, Milton, WI. 2. Tables and chairs will be available for borrowing unless they are needed for a function at the Parish Center, e.g. wedding reception, parish event. 3. Tables and chairs will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. 4. Requests for the use of tables and chairs must be made at least one week in advance of the planned event. All requests must be made by calling the parish office at 868-3337. 5. Each borrower must sign an agreement which stipulates the date of the event, the pick-up and return dates and times, and the person responsible. 6. A deposit in the amount of $250.00 for the use of the tables and chairs must be made at the time of the request. This deposit will be returned to the user if all the terms of the agreement have been followed and if there is no damage to any of the tables or chairs. 7. Borrowers are responsible for damage done to the tables and chairs while in their possession, and must cover the replacement cost for any damage that is done. 8. Tables and chairs must be returned in a clean, ready-to-use condition. 9. In order to minimize the possibility of damage to the tables, the borrower must provide two people to load and unload the tables. The tables are heavy, and cannot be handled by one person alone without doing damage to the table. The borrower should provide some kind of padding to put between the tables to protect them during transit, and avoid the cost of damage (cf. #6 above). 10. Tables and chairs can be picked up and returned only at the times agreed upon. The tables and chairs will be inspected for damage as they are picked up and as they are returned. Thank you for your cooperation Saint Mary Parish Pastoral Council
