Calvin CRC Announcements for July 31, 2016 WORSHIP Today, 10 AM and 5 PM Morning worship: We welcome Julia Cosgrove, director of Care Ministry at First Reformed Church in Holland, as our soloist. She enjoys singing locally and has a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory in Boston. Rev. Rebecca Jordan Heys preaches from Hosea 11:1-11, "A Parent Like No Other." Evening worship: Woodlawn CRC welcomes us to worship with them at the Calvin College Chapel at 5 PM. Seminarian Yohanes Budhi preaches his Classis sermon from 1 Peter 1:13-25, Build Up a Holy and Loving Community. The offering is for Youth Unlimited. WORSHIP Next Sunday, August 7 Morning worship: We welcome Paul Herrema as our soloist. Paul resides in South Lyon, MI, and serves on the staff of the Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church as Worship Coordinator and Choir Director. We will share in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper with Rev. Douglas MacLeod preaching from Psalm 100 and Colossians 3:17, Thanksgiving. Our offerings will be for the Benevolent Fund and Safe Haven Ministries. Evening worship: Calvin Church will be hosting a Classis Grand Rapids East summer evening worship service, held in our sanctuary. Rev. Rebecca Jordan Heys will be preaching from Luke 12:35-40. Our offering will be for Dégagé. This is a five day camp for children who have completed K-5 th grade. Camp meets from 9 AM 4 PM, lunches will be provided by the YMCA at no extra charge. Come for an exciting spirit filled week of small group Bible lessons, camp songs, bungee jump, rock wall, archery, tie-dye and a water slide! HANGERS NEEDED: Family Assistance needs plastic, metal, and wood hangers of all types; coat, pant, and shirt. Donations may be dropped off in the church office. Thank you. Growing in Discipleship Transformed for Ministry Welcome to Calvin Church In Worship: Our worship proceeds unannounced and follows the printed liturgy. The Chancel banner expresses the Christian belief that in one God there are three divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The color green represents growth in this season of the church year. Large print resources are available at the information desk. Our facility is equipped with the Loop hearing system. For Children: Ages 0-2: Infant and toddler nurseries are available. Preschool: The Little Children (TLC) gathers downstairs prior to the morning worship. Busy Bags for young children are on the picket fence in the atrium. Bulletins for older children are in the rack in the narthex. Fellowship and Information: Everyone is invited to the Fellowship Hall for refreshments following the morning service. An introductory church DVD is available at the Information Desk. All of our ministries are described in the colorful folders at the Information Desk near the nurseries.
