Introduction On behalf of the Hanhala and talmidim, we are honored to welcome you to Yeshivas Torah Ore. The following document was compiled to ease acclimation and offer guidance before your arrival. We strongly encourage talmid and parent alike to review this handbook. If you have any further questions, we look forward to offering assistance. A message from the Rosh HaYeshiva, shlit"a Dear Talmid, Before embarking on our daily responsibility of learning Torah, we pray that no יהי רצון מלפניך... שלא יארע actions. failure or fault should occur as a result of our Chazal are teaching us that well intentioned Torah learning is.שום תקלה על ידי not a guarantee for success. Rather Torah learning supplemented with heartfelt prayers is the best recipe for achieving our spiritual goals. On behalf of the Hanhala and the talmidim, I would like to personally welcome you to our Yeshiva family. We are proud of the fact that you have chosen our Yeshiva for your growth in avodas Hashem and look forward to assisting you in fulfilling your goals. As we stand on the threshold of yet another year, we raise our eyes to the Heavens, in hope and prayer, that our actions should be greeted with unbridled success - without fault and without failure. With Torah blessings, HaRav Simcha Scheinberg Rosh HaYeshiva 3

Before Arrival Passports/Visas Talmidim must have a valid passport, which must remain valid for a minimum of 6 months. If a passport is due to expire while a student is in Israel, it should be renewed beforehand to avoid any problems that may occur at either outbound or inbound airports. Upon arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel, all passengers are issued a Tourist Visa valid for 3 months. To legally reside in Israel beyond this initial 3 month period, one must apply for a Student Visa from the Israeli Interior Ministry. The yeshiva bi-annually arranges group appointments. Tuition Fees Our registrar, Rabbi Shais Hefter is in charge of tuition arrangements. Upon acceptance to the yeshiva, parents should contact Rabbi Hefter with the following preference of order. One, email, shefter@torahore.org. Two, cellular phone 972-50-536-6391. Three, office phone, 972-2-537-3049. Please bear in mind the time difference when calling Israel. Tuition payments are arranged and processed in Israel. In the past, avoidable misunderstandings have occurred when random payments were submitted to the NY office. In an effort to avoid errors, tuition payments should be submitted through the Israeli office subsequent to the registrar s instructions. Please understand that an applicant cannot be admitted to the yeshiva (i.e. the dorm, shiur, meal plan, etc.) before finalizing financial arrangements with the registrar s office. Additionally, upon leaving the yeshiva, transcripts are dependant upon fulfilling financial obligations and overall talmid attendance. Medical insurance All talmidim are required to maintain medical coverage in Israel. If your existing medical plan offers coverage in Israel, please ensure that the insurer s information was provided on the application form. If insurance coverage in Israel is needed, the yeshiva offers coverage via an official Israeli health fund Meuhedet. Over 250 clinics are operated throughout Israel by Meuhedet. This non-resident insurance program provides medical services equal to services that Israeli citizens enjoy. Relevant forms can be found at the back of this handbook and can be submitted upon arrival to the yeshiva. 4

Before Arrival Packing Tips With airline luggage weight limited, please consider that many neccessities can be purchased locally in Israel. There are several stores within walking distance of the yeshiva to accomidate the talmid's needs.
