Make sure you tape both sides for durability.

Take the third file folder and cut it in half and cut off the tabs of the file folder as you did above and do the same thing on the bottom of the file folder so it looks like this. One half of another file folder cut in half. One half of another file folder cut in half. Tape Tape Tape Tape One half of another file folder cut in half. One half of another file folder cut in half.

Now you are ready to to start with the lapbook. Go ahead and fold up your lapbook and cut out the cover and glue it onto the front of the lapbook. Have your child write their name on the cover. Now you can start to complete each booklet/ activity and glue them into your lapbook. It is suggested you go through small sections of the lapbook per day, depending of course on the ability of your child. If your child can do more that's great! On the next page is the suggested booklet layout for this lapbook. Of course, you can put the booklets in a different order than shown, but it is suggested to follow the booklet layout.

My Ten Plagues of Egypt Lapbook

When the Israelites, God's people lived in Egypt they were slaves. This is a map of Egypt. There are lots of pyramids in Egypt. There is also a large river in Egypt called the Nile river. Trace the Nile river with a blue crayon or marker. Color the map. Cut out the pyramids on the next page and glue them on the map. Cut out the map and glue it into your lapbook.

Count the pyramids. How many pyramids are there? ----------------------------------------------------------- P is for Pyramid E is for Egypt

Can you write the letter P? P is for Pyramid. Pp Pp Pp Pp Can you write the letter E? E is for Egypt. Ee Ee Ee Ee Directions for the above. Have your child trace the letters in the booklets above. Cut out booklets and fold in half. Then cut out picture strips for the front of the booklets on the previous page and glue them onto the front of the booklets. Glue into your lapbook.

The king of Egypt was called pharaoh and was very mean to the Israelites and would not let them go. He always wanted them to be his slaves. Pharaoh never gave the Israelites a break and always wanted them to work and was mean to them. Pharaoh wanted the Israelite slaves to keep building pyramids for him. Directions. Learn to draw a pyramid by tracing the below pyramid on the dotted lines. Color the pyramid if desired. Cut out pharaoh on the left and glue pharaoh where indicated on the pyramid. Lastly, cut out the pyramid on the solid black lines And glue into lapbook. Glue pharaoh here.

Pharaoh made the Israelites build bricks to make the pyramids. The Israelites made bricks out of mud and straw and worked in the hot, hot sun all day. Count the bricks. 11 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

17 18 19 20 Directions for above cards. Have your child practice counting with the cards. You do not have to use all twenty. Or make a matching game by printing two sets of the cards. Mix up the cards and lay them on the table face up and having your child match the numbers. Or make a memory game and lay them face down on the table and have your child find the matches. Next, assemble the pocket to store cards in on the next page. Cut out pocket. Fold in half. Fold tabs back and glue. When dry store cards inside and fold down flap and glue into lapbook. As an optional project make your own bricks from peanut butter play dough. Your kids can even eat it! Here is the recipe. 1 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup honey, 2 cups powdered sugar Mix ingredients in a bowl and you re done! Have your child mix a little shredded coconut in for straw if desired. Store in an airtight container or plastic baggy with air sucked out of the bag.

My Counting Cards

Because pharaoh was so mean to the Israelites they cried out to God for help. God heard them and sent a man named Moses to help them. God would speak to Moses and Moses would speak to pharaoh. Moses would tell pharaoh that God said to "LET MY PEOPLE GO!" but pharaoh would always say, "NO!". M O S E S Let my people go!

P H A R A O H NO! Directions for Moses and pharaoh booklets. Have your child trace the words inside the booklets. Have your child color the Moses label if desired. Cut out Moses booklet and glue the Moses label to the outside of the booklet. Do the same for the pharaoh booklet EXCEPT glue the label for the pharaoh booklet on the outside of the side with pharaoh. This might seem odd but, when placed in the lapbook the two booklets will open towards each other so it really looks like Moses is saying Let my people go! and pharaohs reply looks like he is saying NO! back.

Because pharaoh would not let God's people, the Israelites go, God sent plagues on Egypt so pharaoh would let God's people go. God sent a total of 10 plagues to Egypt. The plagues did not affect the Israelites. Only the Egyptians. The first plague was the plague of blood. God turned all the streams, rivers, ponds and pools of water to blood. All the fish in the river died and the river smelled really bad and the Egyptians could not drink the water.

The Water Turned to Blood Directions for the first plague. Color the river red. Then cut out fish and glue them onto the river. Next, color the cover of the booklet red also. Cut out both pieces of the booklet. Stack with the cover on top and staple at the top. Glue into lapbook.

Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go and God sent another plague. The third plague was the plague of lice. So Moses hit the ground with his staff and the dust became lice. Lice was everywhere. On the people and the animals. But God kept his people the Israelites safe and the Israelites nor their animals were bothered by the lice.

But God kept his people the Israelites safe and no swarms of flies came where the Israelites were living.

Please note the top cover will be a little longer that the bottom page of this booklet. Just line up the top and staple together. Glue into lapbook.

Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go and God sent another plague. The fifth plague was the plague on the cattle, horses, donkey's, camels, oxen and sheep. So God sent sickness among the cattle, horses, donkey's, camels, oxen and sheep and all the animals of the Egyptians died. But God kept his people the Israelites safe and their animals did get sick or die.

But God kept his people the Israelites safe and the Israelites nor their animals were affected by the boils.

The Plague of Boils Directions for the boils plague booklet. On previous page color the boils red on the two Egyptians. Cut out both Egyptians and set aside. Next, color boils red on cover above and cut out. Stack it on top of the two other ovals and staple at the top. Glue into lapbook.

Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go and God sent another plague. The seventh plague was the plague of hail. The Bible says it also thundered and hailed and fire ran along upon the ground. The hail destroyed every herb and tree of the field. The hail destroyed all their crops! But God kept his people the Israelites safe and it did not hail where the Israelites were. The Plague of Hail Directions for the hail booklet. Color the cloud and hail balls. Cut them out and punch holes where indicated. Next take three different lengths of string and thread them and tie them through the holes Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go and God sent You punched out in the cloud. Next tie on the hail balls. When completed glue into lapbook.

Pharaoh still refused to let the Israelites go and God sent another plague. The eighth plague was the plague of locusts. Locusts are like really big grasshoppers. The Bible says there were so many locusts you could not even see the ground and that they ate everything that the hail did not destroy. The locusts even filled the houses of the Egyptians. But God kept his people the Israelites safe and locusts did not come to where the Israelites were.

The Plague of Locusts Directions for the locust booklet. Color the map of Egypt on the previous page. Color the locusts as well if desired. Cut out locusts and glue them onto the map of Egypt. Cut out map set aside. Color cover above. Cut out and stack on top of map you have already finished. Staple at the top and glue into lapbook

Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go and God sent another plague. The ninth plague was the plague of darkness. the Bible says a thick darkness covered the land of Egypt for three days. But God kept his people the Israelites safe the Israelites had light. The Plague Color this circle all black. of Darkness Directions for the above booklet. Have your child color the second circle all black. Cut out all circles and stack in order with the cover on top, the black circle your child colored second and then the sun circle third. Staple at the top and glue into lapbook.

Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go and God sent one last plague. This plague would be worse than all the others. The tenth plague was the death of the first born. God said he would go through Egypt and smite the firstborn children of all the Egyptians including the first born of the animals. For the Israelites to escape this plague, God told them they had to kill a lamb and put the blood from the lamb on the door posts of their houses. If they did this, God said he would see the blood on the door posts and when he saw the blood the plague would pass over them and the first born child would not die. After this plague pharaoh let the Israelites go. Color the family if desired. Then cut out and glue on the square To the right. Cut out booklet piece. The family goes here because God kept them safe from the plague because they put the blood on their door. Just as God had told them.

The Death Remember because the of the Firstborn Next, have your child color the door above. Next, glue on the blood to the top and sides of the door. Cut out and set aside. Lastly, Have your child color the cover to this booklet. When done, cut out and stack on top of the door with the blood then on top on the family. Staple at the top and glue into lapbook.
