Connect. Inspire. Serve. Welcome to Worship at Memorial Presbyterian Church! We are delighted you have chosen to worship at Memorial Presbyterian Church. Our hope is that every person who enters Memorial will CONNECT with God and the community of faith, be INSPIRED to a life of discipleship and spiritual growth, and discover ways to SERVE our neighbors near and far. Please join us for coffee and conversation immediately following the worship service today. Friendship Pad: We ask that all worshipers sign the Ritual of Friendship pad, located on the center aisle side of the pew. Sign your name, address and phone number, and pass it along the pew and then back again so that we can get to know each other and greet each other by name. Accessibility at MPC: The sanctuary is equipped with a Hearing Loop system that allows people to receive the sound from the church s audio system in their own hearing aids. Large-size bulletins and hymnals are also available from the ushers. Please contact an usher if you have any questions on accessibility issues. Children of all ages are welcome in the worship service. Nursery care is provided for children from birth to 3 years of age. Pagers are given to parents in the event that communication is necessary. In addition, a Children s Table is located by the entry if you wish to take your child from the sanctuary, yet be able to hear and see the service. Kinderchurch is an age-appropriate worship experience provided for children ages 3 through Grade 2. Children attend worship with their parents for about 15 minutes, and then move to the Kinderchurch room as a group. It is not held on Sundays when communion is served, so that children will be able to experience communion with their parents. Communion: The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has an Open Table. All who are baptized, all who hold Jesus as their Lord and Savior, are invited to the table. Children may take communion with parent s consent. Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month, and at other designated services. Please feel free to contact the church office at (920) 734-1787 or info@mpcappleton.org with any questions you may have.

Gathering Around the Word As the prelude begins, please take a moment of silence to prepare for worship. WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS CALL TO WORSHIP Margaret Fulton One: Our God is a God of promise, calling us to risk and trust. All: God s faithfulness is everlasting. One: Come, put your trust in God. All: We will follow where you lead. HYMN #35 Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty CALL TO CONFESSION Greg Braatz PRAYER OF CONFESSION Loving Creator, you have formed us, given us breath, and supplied our every need. And yet we are slow to recognize your blessings, quick to doubt and criticize, and eager to blame others for our own shortcomings. Forgive us when we fail to reflect the unconditional love of the One who made us. Have mercy on us and claim us once again as your own. Amen. A time for silent confession KYRIE #551 Lord, Have Mercy 1

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS One:Sisters and brothers in Christ, hear the good news: God, whose name is I AM, provides for our weakness. Jesus Christ, I AM in the body, gave himself for our salvation. All: who are united to Christ in his death are united to Christ in his resurrection. I declare to you, in Jesus Christ your sins are forgiven. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and reconciled to God. Thanks be to God. Amen! PASSING THE PEACE One: The peace of Christ be with you all. All: And also with you. One: Share the peace of Christ with one another. GLORIA Tune Westminster Abbey Proclaiming the Word PRESENTATION OF BIBLES TO THIRD GRADERS Joel Screnock, Resident Christian Educator Lily Goodwin, Roan Hesselman, Finn Marinan, Sofia Telfer One: Today we celebrate a special moment in the lives of each of these families. Today we live out the mission of Memorial Presbyterian Church by keeping and renewing the promises made at the baptisms of these children. Congregation: This is the Word of the Lord. The Bible tells us who we are and to whom we belong. It teaches us that we are the people of God. We promise to help you learn its stories and God s word in order that you might live. Onel: Lily, Roan, Finn, and Sofia, receive the Word of God. Learn its stories and study its words. Its stories belong to us all, and these words speak to us all. They tell us who we are. They tell us that we belong to one another, for we are the people of God. 3rd Grade Students and Families: We receive these Bibles with our hands, our hearts, and our minds. With gratitude will read and study the Bible together. 2
