The Dark Side of Life has been ictionalized in the character of Darth Vader in the Star Wars Trilogy. For a truer and unsentimental experience of the battle that we all wage with evil or sin or the devil read Genesis 3. Here we experience real evil or the absence of good as he begins his mission on earth. It is Satan..a force that cannot be killed, that is envious of Man, and always smarter. Worse of all it must be battled every day from the personal level to the grand scale of human existence. There is no break in the action! We know that God rules over evil and has allowed evil to exist in the world. At the same time He has given us the tools to overcome evil by his way, his truth, and in his life if we choose to let it work in our lives. This week we look at the way the devil works within us to twist our desire to be like God. Or how the devil uses our own impulses and converts them into arrogance and pride that leads us to seek the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge that the evil one says will make us like God, and give us the knowledge of good and evil.
