Primary Presentation 2014 Families are Forever Narrator: In Primary this year we have been learning about how families can be together forever. I am grateful for my family and love them very much. Knowing we are children of God helps us understand we are never alone. Jesus Christ makes it possible for me and my family to return to Heavenly Father. As my family and I live worthy of the spirit, we can make good choices that will lead us back to Heavenly Father s presence. For additional parts focus on the family proclamation as well as on scriptures from each month s lessons. Sunbeams Heavenly Father Prepared a Way for Me to Return to His Presence (jan theme) I am a child of God and can be like Him someday. Heavenly Father provided a Savior and makes it possible for me to return to His presence. Jesus Christ is the perfect example for me to follow. I can return to Heavenly Father by following Jesus Christ. Song: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). He Sent His Son CTR 4 Heavenly Father Has a Plan for His Children (feb theme) O how great the plan of our God! (2 Nephi 9:13)
Heavenly Father commanded Jesus Christ to create the earth as a home for His children. Before we were born we lived in heaven with our heavenly parents. My body is created in the image of God. Agency is the gift to choose for myself. Song: I Will Follow God s Plan CTR 5 Jesus Christ is Our Savior (march theme) We have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world (1 John 4:14). I can gain a testimony of Jesus Christ. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can repent and be forgiven of my sins. Jesus Christ was resurrected, and I will be too. I can show respect for the Savior by being reverent. Song: I Stand All Amazed CTR 6: The Family is Central to God s Plan (april theme) Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and... the family is central to the Creator s plan for the eternal destiny of His children ( The Family: A Proclamation to the World ) Parents have important responsibilities in families
Children have the responsibility to obey their parents. I can show love to each member of my family. Song: The Family is of God CTR 7: Families are Blessed When They Follow the Prophet (may theme) Be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets (2 Peter 3:2) God speaks to us through prophets. The prophets in the scriptures are examples to my family. My family will be blessed as we follow the prophet. The prophet speaks to us at general conference. Song: Love is Spoken Here VAL 8: Priesthood Ordinances and Temple Work Bless My family (june theme) Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven (Matthew 18:18). Temples make it possible for families to be together forever. I can prepare now to be worthy to enter the temple. Family history work connects me to my ancestors. Participating in Wholesome Activities Will Strengthen My Family (Aug theme) Pray in your families unto the Father... that your [families] may be blessed (3 Nephi 18:21). Successful families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. (The Family Proclamation) Family home evening strengthens my family. Scripture study gives me and my family spiritual strength. The Sabbath is a day of rest and worship. We can draw closer to Heavenly Father on Sundays by attending our church meetings, praying, and studying our scriptures. We Become Members of the Church through Baptism and Confirmation (July theme). Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:5). The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored. I become a member of the Church through baptism and confirmation. The Holy Ghost comforts and guides me. I can know the truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. VAL 10: Living the Teachings of Jesus Christ Strengthens Me and My Family (Nov theme) Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ ( The Family: A Proclamation to the World ) If ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true (Alma 32:21). Prayer is reverent communication with Heavenly Father Repentance is a change of mind and heart. Forgiveness brings peace We Remember and Worship Our Savior, Jesus Christ (Dec theme) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). The sacrament is a time to remember Jesus Christ. Remembering Jesus Christ helps me choose the right. The Son of God was born on earth. By giving service to others, I give service to God. We believe in being honest. By living the gospel I set a good example for others to follow.
