Observation: What does the text say? Interpretation: What does the text mean? A 1 pplication: How does this apply to us? A 2 pplication: How do I make the us happen? 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 What? O: God s design is for us to be compelled by His love. In Christ, we are new creations. Everything Is from God. He gave us the ministry of reconciliation. We are ambassadors. I: Christ changes our identity. The way we see people changes. Our purpose in life changes. We become reconcilers and ambassadors. A 1 : We cannot be healthy ambassadors alone. We must work together to plead on Christ s behalf. We must work together to live in the newness of our identity. We need to commit to our church family. A 2 : I need to cultivate my own heart and gospel-centered identity so that I am able to serve my family and work diligently in the ministry of reconciliation. MY GOALS: Think practical and specific! MY ACCOUNTABILITY: Who will be following up? OUR FLUENCY: Below is one example of using the 3 circles to increase our fluency. We are compelled by obedience. God s love compels us. (2 Cor. 5:14) Through accepting our need and resting in the gospel. We put on our hardhats. We try to earn God s love. Repent of selfreliance and embrace our neediness. When? We believe Jesus did the work for us. 6 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 7

OUR IDENTITY 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 We are in Christ (v. 17) Responsible Sibling We are family. And as family, we actively take responsibility for one another. We are made new (v.17) Responsible Sibling We are family. And as family, we actively take responsibility for one another. The church is not like family. It is family. God is our Father Jesus is our elder brother We are brothers and sisters in Christ WHY? 8 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 9

WHo? My Church My Missional Community My Nuclear Family My Marriage At each level, we want to assess holistic health by asking: How am I growing in the gospel in the context of family while living on mission? How is my marriage growing in the gospel in the context of family while living on mission? etc. A DORATION Father, you are a good Father. You are holy and we don t deserve your perfect love. What? C ONFESSION Jesus we confess that sometimes we seek independence and try to ignore our family responsibilities. T HANKSGIVING Thank you for this family and for the good gift of community. Me For these questions, think MC and DNA Who are you responsible for? S UPPLICATION God, we ask that you would strengthen our MC, that you would give us wisdom to better strategize how to reach our neighbors, and that you would give us boldness to take the opportunities you give. We ask that you would protect our brother as he travels and that you would give grace to our sister who is struggling with anxiety. Who is responsible for you? 10 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 11

OUR IDENTITY 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 We are in Christ (v. 17) indigenous disciple-maker We intentionally seek to make disciples where we live, work, and play. WHo? Co-Worker We are made new (v. 17) We are ambassadors (v. 20) OUR COMMISSION Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus came near and said to them, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. WHY? Neighbor Another believer to teach Me Another believer to teach My Indigenous Intersections Family On the top three circles, write the names of nonbelievers in your life (where you live, work, and play). In the bottom two circles, identify two believers you could train to share their faith and disciple others. 14 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 15

I was selfish and prideful. Before Christ, was my god. Now I am healed and grateful. WHat? MY GOALS: Think practical and specific! MY ACCOUNTABILITY: Who will be following up? Jesus saved and changed me. When? 16 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 17

1 Peter 4:10 generous steward We faithfully manage our time, talent, and treasure as resources for God s purposes. Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of god. generous steward We faithfully manage our time, talent, and treasure as resources for God s purposes. Matthew 6:19-21 Don t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don t break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. WHY? 18 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 19

WHo? Christianity is not about a RELATIONSHIP. It s about RELATIONSHIPS. Relationships with God, Believers, and our Neighbors. 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 We are in Christ (v. 17) WHat? How can you intentionally invest your time, talent, and treasure to cultivate greater relationships with God, our family, and your neighbors? Think specifically about time investment in family: MC, DNA, and larger church. We are made new (v. 17) We are ambassadors (v. 20) What gifts do you have that our family needs? How can you creatively use them to invest in these relationships? How do you budget your money? How can you better budget to invest in these relationships? 20 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 21

MY GOALS: Think practical and specific! MY ACCOUNTABILITY: Who will be following up? When? OUR DNA We believe that the gospel changes people, and people change the world. Our philosophy As a church, God has made us stewards of two very important recources: The Gospel, which is the power of God for salvation (Romans 1:16-17) and His people. Keeping that in mind, we want to focus our resources toward making sure that we faithfully and consistently instill the gospel in everyone who is part of Blueprint Church. Everything we do as a church we do under the premise that it is the gospel that truly changes people at their core; only then are these changed people God s agents to change a dying world. As a church, we exist to unleash healthy people to do ministry where life exists. 22 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 23

Our Mission At Blueprint, we don t have a lot of programs, strategies, and initiatives to fix the woes of the world we live in. We believe that as the gospel transforms people, God places these transformed people into broken and dark situations where they become His hands and feet to repair what has been fractured. We define health as people who are growing in the gospel, in the context of family, Gospel while on mission. Our strategy Family mission We ve built our discipleship strategy to develop healthy people who are growing in the Gospel, in the context of family, while living on mission. These 3 areas allow us to provide discipleship environments that develop holistically healthy disciples of Jesus. We Aim to created a culture of people who are: Gospel-Centered Believers The Gospel reshapes our identity. We think, speak, and live as people who have been made new. Responsible siblings We are family. And as family, we actively take responsibility for one another. Indigenous disciple makers We intentionally seek to make disciples wherever we live, work, and play. Generous Stewards We faithfully manage our time, talent, and treasures as resources for God s purposes. 24 BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE BLUEPRINT CHURCH DISCIPLE MAKING PIPELINE 25
