Stephen Stacks Leader: The Lord be with you, People: And also with you. Passing of the Peace Rev. Stacks Preparation for Worship Who Is This? John Mark McMillan Who is this? The King of Glory, Who is this? The King of Glory, Who is this? The King of Glory, Open up your gates before him! Call to Worship (Psalm 123) Kadeisha Bonsu Prayers of the People and Lord s Prayer Rev. Wesley Spears-Newsome Leader: To you I lift up my eyes, People: O you who are enthroned in the heavens! Leader: As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, People: As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, Leader: So our eyes look to you our God, People: Until you have mercy upon us. Leader: Have mercy upon us, O Lord, People: For we have had more than enough of contempt. Leader: Our soul has had more than its fill of the scorn of those who are at ease, People: More than its fill of the contempt of the proud. Invocation Hymn 653 Offertory Prayer Kadeisha Bonsu Lord, You Give the Great Commission Annette King Offertory Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing arr. Hustad Presentation of the Offering As our offering is presented back to God, we will sing the following doxology: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, And to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, Is now, and ever shall be, World without end. Amen, Amen. GLORIA PATRI We affirm each prayer with the following response: Leader: Lord, in your mercy... People: Hear our prayer. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. During the following hymn, children (ages first grade and younger) are invited to go to Children s Time. Parents may pick up their children in the Children s Wing after worship. Hymn 387 God Who Made Us, Christ Who Called Us Scripture Reading Mark 6:1-13 Bamise Ogundipe We affirm the reading of Scripture with the following response: Reader: The word of God for us, the people of God. People: Thanks be to God.

Anthem The Servant Song arr. Francis Patrick O Brien Will you let me be your servant Let me be as Christ to you? Pray that I might have the grace To let you be my servant too. We are pilgrims on the journey; We are brothers on the road. We are here to help each other Walk the mile and bear the load. I will hold the Christ light for you In the night time of your fear. I will hold my hand out to you, Speak the peace you long to hear. I will weep when you are weeping; When you laugh, I ll laugh with you. I will share your joy and sorrow Till we ve seen this journey through. When we sing to God in heaven We shall find such harmony. Born to all we ve known together, Of Christ s love and agony.
