Editorial Alhamdulillah, The Imam Mustafa Raza Research Centre is pleased to present the first issue of Al Hareem (online). Al Hareem (online) is a magazine which the Centre has dedicated to our mothers, sisters and daughters. The Imam Mustafa Raza Research Centre has been striving to the best of our ability to serve the Ummah, and the launch of Al Hareem is an addition to our humble efforts. Al Hareem has been prepared and designed keeping the Muslim Woman in mind. We will attempt to the best of our ability to present articles and discussions in this magazine which will appeal to our sisters and to their families as well. Even though Al Hareem has been regarded as a magazine for our sisters, it will also be beneficial to all members of your family. Al Hareem will be prepared based on the Principles of Shariat-e-Mustafa (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam). We will attempt to present articles relating to Deeni issues, but we will also present some medical and social discussions every now and then. We sincerely make Dua that the magazine will benefit all readers and will be a means of learning. Al Hareem is an organ of the Imam Mustafa Raza Research Centre and will In sha Allah try to be the voice of Maslak-e-Aala Hazrat. The Centre is dedicated to Ghaus ul Waqt Imam Mustafa Raza Khan Qaadiri Barakaati (radi Allahu anhu), who is the son of Imame-Ahl-e-Sunnat Aala Hazrat (radi Allahu anhu), thus the Deeni information herein will be in accordance with the teachings of Maslak e Aala Hazrat, which is the name of Recognition for the Ahl-e-Sunnat Wa Jama at in this Era. The idea in launching Al Hareem is so that our mothers, sisters and daughters and their families may benefit from basic Deeni information and other medical and social information as well. As women, we too have a responsibility towards our Deen and our greatest responsibility is to be true servants of Allah and humble and dedicated followers of Nabi Kareem (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam). Many of us have sadly become lost in the vices of this materialistic world. The time to awaken from our worldly lives and to attempt to become spiritually better people and examples to our families is now. So, let us all strive to increase our knowledge of Deen and our love for Allah and His Beloved Rasool (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam). We sincerely make Dua that Almighty Allah accepts both our and your efforts for His Deen, through the Wasila of Nabi e Akram (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam). Life in reality is life lived for the Pleasure of Allah and His Beloved Nabi (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) Your Sister in Islam Fathima Cassim Amjadi

By Ghaus ul Waqt Huzoor Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Radi Allahu anhu) Beloved Sisters! We should try day and night to spend as much time as possible making the Zikr of Allah and His Beloved Rasool (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam). One of the best ways of doing this is by reciting Naat Shareef. Naat is praise of the Beloved Rasool (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam). We should sit down with our children and brothers and sisters at home and recite Naats and Salaam. However, when reciting Naat Shareef or Salaat-o-Salaam etc we should be careful to do so in a low voice so that non-mahrams are not able to hear our recitation. Also remember that it is not permissible for a female to recite aloud in a mixed gathering. When we wish to recite Naats and Manqabat etc we should do so either softly or in a gathering of females only,

Important Laws Pertaining to Haidh (Menstruation) From Bahaar-e-Shariat Cont in next issue...

There is much talk nowadays with regards to female circumcision and the Islamic Ruling in this regard. There are numerous misconceptions in this issue, as there are those who regard this as necessary. This has become such a burning issue that there are some have gone to the extent of mentioning it to be compulsory. This issue was presented a few years back to Huzoor Taajush Shariah, Allama Mufti Mohammed Akhtar Raza Khan Qaadiri Azhari Qibla. His Eminence presented a brief yet clear verdict in this regard, which was then published in a collection of his Fatawa. The Query presented to Hazrat and his answer are as follows: THE QUERY What is the Islamic Ruling concerning the following query: Is the circumcission of women (females) permissible in Islam? THE VERDICT The circumcision of women (females) is not Sunnah and neither has it been an emphasized Command in Shariat. It is a tradition in certain Arab countries. It is mentioned in the Hadith Shareef that: Circumcision is Sunnah for men, and for women it is only better. It is in Durr-e-Mukhtar: The circumcision for women (females) is not Sunnah, but for the sake of the men, it is something which is better; and this statement that it is Sunnah is Da eef (Weak). Where the tradition of circumcision for women is not present, it should not be started since this will cause people to laugh at and make a mockery of the Shariat. Is it correct or not if a young female or an old woman drinks the water or gravy (from food) left-over by her Murshid (Shaykh), or is it Makruh-e-Tahreemi or Makruh-e-Tanzeehi? Please give reference. If it is done with the intention of deriving pleasure or impure desire then this Haraam, and if it consumed specifically as 'Tabarruk' (Holy Blessing), then it is permissible (And Allah Knows well that which is mischievous from that which is proper). It is mentioned in the Sahih Hadith that when Huzoor Pur Noor r made Hijrat and was resident at the home of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari r then when that which Huzoor r ate from would be taken into the house (i.e. to his family), then they would eat from where the area touched by the blessed fingers of Rasoolullah r. (The general rule for others is that) It is mentioned in Durr-e-Mukhtar: The left-over (food or drink of a male is Makruh for a female, and the food or drink left-over by female is Makruh for a male). In its last section it is mentioned: The left-overs of a female with the intention of deriving pleasure from it is Makruh upon a male and the left-over of a male (with this intent) is Makruh upon a female. (And Allah Knows Best) [Fatawa Razvia]

Few Blessed Sayings of Nabi Kareem Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Beloved Rasool (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) said, A time will come when people will eat anything and they will not care about where it comes from or whether it is Halaal or Haraam. [Bukhari Shareef] Sayyidah A isha (radi Allahu anha) reported that the Beloved Rasool (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) said, When a woman gives in charity some of the foodstuff (which she has in her home) without spoiling it, she will receive the reward for what she has spent, and her husband will receive the reward because of his earning, and the storekeeper will also have a similar reward to it. The reward of one will not decrease the reward of others. [Bukhari] Is on th authority of Hazrat Abu Dardah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Beloved Rasool (Sall Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) said, Allah has sent down illness and the medicine (cure for it). Allah has given a medicine (cure) for every illness. Thus, you should use medication, but do not use medication from Haraam. [Abu Dawud]

Five Powerful Tips to Ease Morning Sickness in Pregnancy Some pregnant women suffer not only morning sickness, it's often more morning, noon, and night sickness. They feel sick all the time, and want to crawl back into bed. Pregnant women will learn in this article five powerful tips that will ease morning sickness. 1. Control your blood sugar level Alleviate morning sickness in pregnancy by keeping your blood sugar level stable. Obviously, sleeping is a major problem when you are trying to regulate your blood sugar. Try to eat without getting out of bed. Your partner will be happy to bring food to you every morning. Take only small bites. Try to eat a little bit, then wait to stand up. Give your body time to get the food into your system. 2. Watch out what you eat! Morning sickness pregnancy is also triggered by certain foods. Avoid foods that will spike your blood sugar level. Foods such as processed sugars and white flour can cause morning sickness in pregnancy. Whole grain foods and protein are a good alternative as they are less likely to cause nausea. 3. Be careful with drinking too much water Although Doctors will tell you repeatedly to drink plenty of water, it can make morning sickness pregnancy worse. They are trying to ensure that dehydration doesn t become a problem. Try some alternatives to water. Try drinking smoothies with a little plain yogurt with fruit mixed in. Mix the water with a little lime or lemon. You can even try tea cold or hot tea very watered down. Fruits such as melons can help with morning sickness pregnancy. Regardless of your preference, it is extremely important to stay hydrated. If water is exacerbating morning sickness pregnancy, you do need alternatives. 4. Smells can trigger morning sickness pregnancy Another issue that can cause morning sickness pregnancy is odors. There are steps you can take to alleviate morning sickness pregnancy due to smells. One hint is to let your husband change diapers if you have other children. Cook odorneutral foods no garlic, onions, or oily fish. Stay away from people that have odor problems. They can make your morning sickness pregnancy worse. 5. Positive Thinking You can ease morning sickness pregnancy by focusing on positive things. Remember, while you are going through this difficult phase, you are growing another person inside you. This is one of the most wonderful times in your life, and the morning sickness pregnancy will not last forever. In a few months, a beautiful baby will come out and your life will be more fulfilled than you could ever imagine. Source: The above article was taken from the net and seemed like interesting reading. Note: This is not a medical guide but something that seems like healthy advice... Dear Sisters! During Preganancy recite the Holy Qur an and Durood Shareef as much as possible Spend time thinking about b l e s s e d a n d p i o u s personalities. This will have a blessed and positive effect on the growing baby.

Spiritual Remedies Durood E Razviyyah

Islam is a Religion which teaches modesty and shows us how to rectify ourselves so that we may become better people. To live a modest and respectful life is of great importance to every person. If one wishes to be respected in his or her respective community, then one must live a pure, honest and modest life. It is sad that the world has become such a corrupt place and people have become so immodest today that we respect those who are known for their immodest actions and their sinful behavior. We tend to respect people for their wealth, power and position, instead of respecting them for being good and modest people. Immodesty is something that will definitely be a means to our destruction. The very same immodesty has been a means of destruction for nations and communities before us. We should try our best to live modest and honourable lives. The Holy Prophet of Islam (peace and salutations upon him) said, Modesty is a branch of faith. The meaning of this is that a truly religious person is a person who lives a modest life. Those amongst us today have forgotten their roots and the importance of being examples for the future generation. Today, adultery and fornication has become so common that many of us do not even think of it to be a sinful and immodest act. People openly display sexual intimacy to one another on streets and in the presence of their children and sometimes even in the presents of their parents. Consumption of alcohol is another sinful act that leads a person to become immodest. When a person takes in large amounts of alcohol, he or she becomes totally intoxicated and such a person is not even aware of their own condition. They do not have any respect and regard for themselves or those around them. Such people make a spectacle of themselves and for that moment they do not care about what they say or do and tend not only to hurt the feelings of those around them, but on numerous occasions they even cause physical harm to those who they claim to love and care for. These are all immodest actions and are a means to ones spiritual destruction. An immodest person is usually a person who does not care about what others think or feel. He feels that he is exempt from all the ethical and moral codes of conduct that have been put into place to make man a better person. Such a person is of no use to himself or to anyone else. An immodest person is actually a person who thrives on being immodest and thinks that it is some kind of superior quality that he possesses. This, in reality is not true. He does not have a superior quality, but he has brought himself so low that he has no standing a community where people live modest and pure lives. The only place where he will find comfort and satisfaction is in the company of those who think and behave like he does. An immodest person becomes so deeply caught up in his way of life, that he openly commits sinful acts and thinks nothing of it. In other words, he commits adultery etc. and then publicises this amongst his friends. In other words, he has no remorse for sinning and does not see his actions as sinful any longer. The Holy Prophet of Islam (peace and salutations upon him) said, My entire Ummah will be forgiven except for those immoral persons who openly commit sins and publicise it amongst the people. Think about the way in which you live your life. Are you living a modest life or do you thrive on immodesty?
