The chaos of a fallen world doesn t signal end times. As His witnesses, God will give His people the right words to defend themselves. Once the signs of the end times begin, Jesus return will happen quickly. Believers should watch and wait for Jesus return, not distracted by life s circumstances. Lessons about the future can us or scare us. As you look to the future, be on guard and stay. Lessons from Jesus Betrayers Luke 22:1-6 Even enemies and rivals can be united by corrupt motives and evil desires. Satan lurks and waits, hoping to enlist others in his schemes. Despite the existence of evil, Jesus triumphs. Personal ambition and motives are ingredients for in your relationship with God. As a servant in God s kingdom, always check your motives. Lessons from the Last Supper Luke 22:7-38 Jesus will not eat the Passover again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. The new covenant will be ushered in by Jesus death and ratified by His blood. The Lord s Supper is instituted by Jesus as a memorial celebration. Luke 21,22 November 7, 2013 Women in the Word Isaiah 13:10 The stars of the heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. Isaiah 34:4 All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree. Ephesians 2:8,9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works so that no one can boast. Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 1 Peter 5: 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Hebrews 2:14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by His death, He might break the power of him who holds the power of death that is the devil- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
