This chapter covers the origins and early history of three of the Western world s prominent religious groups that formed in the Near East: Jewish, Christian and Byzantine. The text focuses on the development of these groups and how they expressed their faith through art and architecture. NOTE: Be prepared for some REVIEW QUESTIONS on the Chapter Test.
