The Service of Diminishing Light Insert Hymn of Praise We re Marching to Zion #416 The Cardinal Principles of The Christian Church The Lord Jesus Christ is the only head of the church. Christian is a sufficient name for the church. The Holy Bible is a sufficient rule of faith and practice. Christian character is a sufficient test of fellowship and of church membership. The right of private judgment and liberty of conscience is a right and a privilege that should be accorded to and exercised by all. The purpose of this church will be consummated in the reformation of the world and the union of all Christians. Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen. Mission Moment Look What God and You Did! Offertory God So Loved the World (Hustad) Doxology #815 Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below. Praise Him above, ye heav nly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Unison Offertory Prayer Everlasting God, You are kind and trustworthy. Every day You graciously provide what we need from Your abundance. We are grateful that You bring healing and hope for our lives. #416 We re Marching to Zion The ransomed of the Lord will enter Zion with singing and joy. --Isaiah 35:10 Come, we that love the Lord, And let our joys be known; Join in a song with sweet accord, Join in a song with sweet accord. And thus surround the throne, And thus surround the throne. Refrain: We re marching to Zion, Beautiful, beautiful Zion. We re marching upward to Zion, The beautiful city of God. Let those refuse to sing, Who never knew our God; But children of the heavenly King, But children of the heavenly King May speak their joys abroad, May speak their joys abroad. (Refrain) The hill of Zion yields A thousand sacred sweets Before we reach the heav nly fields, Before we reach the heav nly fields Or walk the golden streets, Or walk the golden streets. (Refrain) Then let our songs abound, And every tear be dry; We re marching thru Emmanuel s ground, We re marching thru Emmanuel s ground To fairer worlds on high, To fairer worlds on high. (Refrain) James 2:1-4, 8-9 New International Version (NIV) My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, Here s a good seat for you, but say to the poor man, You stand there or Sit on the floor by my feet, have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?... If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, Love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. May the Lord bless this reading of His holy Word: And to His name be honor and glory. Amen! Text: Isaac Watts; Robert Lowry, Refrain; Music: Robert Lowry; In the Public Domain
#483 The Savior Is Waiting Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. --Hebrews 3:15 The Savior is waiting to enter your heart -- Why don t you let Him come in? There s nothing in this world to keep you apart -- What is your answer to Him? If you ll take one step toward the Savior, my friend, You ll find His arms open wide. Receive Him and all of your darkness will end; Within your heart He ll abide. Refrain: Time after time He has waited before, And now He is waiting again To see if you re willing to open the door -- O how He wants to come in.
