Anyone who wants to create immediate results in any area of their life will find this book has a nuts-andbolts approach that will work...if you are willing to apply it." Tony Rush Book by Richard Bliss Brooke 1. Success Secret 1: Self-Motivation a. "The American pioneers had to become successful. The native Americans would not hire them." b. We tend to make up who we are based on our experiences. What we make up is irrational and random. But it can define our lives if we let it! c. He started at chicken plant and thought this is where I will make it (at age 22). Retire at 65. Very limited view of possibilities based on self-programming. d. Then Steve Spaulding approached him with MLM...no vision. But within six months later, he went to Steve's house (he was a friend) and was ready. (LESSON: Stay in touch). 6 years later 30,000 in downline making $40,000 per month. e. How: I changed...what I read, who I hung out with, what I listened to, habits, what I believed, skill sets. Ask yourself "have I changed?" "I suggest if it is on purpose and by design, you can change more in the next year than you have your whole life." When introduced to networking, it went against everything he knew. So, he went after learning all he could on "success on purpose." "You miss 100% of the shots you never take." Wayne Gretzky Focus on the process more than on the outcome...fall in love with process! f. 4 Greatest lies of success 1) Desire creates success. 2) Hard work creates success 3) Being a good person creates success 4) Getting a good education with create success g. Self-motivation IS the secret: "it is blend of physical, mental and emotional energy focused on creating an intended result. It is the energy that leads us to act and causes us to attract." Keys to Self Motivation:
1) Enthusiasm 2) Courage 3) Persistence 4) Physical Energy 5) Creativity 2. Reviewing the Script (the one already in place) a. "Restlessness is discontent and discontent is the first necessity of progress." Thomas Edison b. "To the degree that there is a contrast between what we have decided should be happening (Visions) and what is happening (current results), MOTIVATION naturally, effortlessly, powerfully and infinitely flows to close the gap." Like a thermostat c. If there is no difference between what is going on and what you expect to be going on, you have no motivation. d. 3 types of Vision: Positive, apathy, and negative (self sabotage) Where are you? "Without motivation we are like lemmings, leading ourselves of the cliff of resignation, despair, and hopelessness." e. For Richard, his first year he made $12,000, and second $12,000 again, but it was hard and his thoughts and vision kept telling him he couldn't make $60,000 per year so then he fell back to $4,000 the next year. He tried to make himself change...succeed but could not force it. He went to work on his head! He developed the "Art of Lying" to himself...one my conscious mind knew wasn't true, but was counting on his subconscious mind to hear and feel it. 1) Read 1 chapter everyday (Napoleon Hill books, other motivational, self dev books), and repeat positive phrases to himself all day long. Listened to it on sleep tapes. 2) Motivational tapes every morning to fire him up. "The world has the habit of making room for the man whose words and actions shows that he knows where he is going." Napoleon Hill f. Goal setting versus mindset: Goals setting only works when your goal becomes your mindset or expectation. Expect success! Once he taught himself to THINK LIKE A SUCCESSFUL PERSON, his entire business changed...same presentation, just a different energy, vibration! "People pay much more attention to who you are than to what you are saying." 3. Visions a. "We hope vaguely but dread precisely." Paul Valery How you see yourself... in pictures, for every event that might occur, how you will perform, or what will happen in any situation or set of circumstances. "they are all based on decisions you have made about yourself." b. Exercise: take anything that you really want in your Manantech business, that is really important to you. Close your eyes and see how you perform.
Give yourself 60 seconds. Answer the following: 1) ON a scale of 1-10 was the picture you saw clear? (1 Unclear, 10 totally clear). 2) ON a scale of 1-10 did you feel a sense of positive or negative energy? (1 quite negative, 10 totally positive) 3) ON a scale of 1-10, did you feel like you really deserved it? (1 quite negative and 10 totally positive) Results: Total up your points: 24-30 20-24 16-20 Below 20 c. We are our programming...we draft out own movie script. And we have allowed just about everyone in our life draft the script. We also allowed our self to draft them...but the problem is we have no clue how to draft the script! The decisions you make about yourself come from 3 sources: 1) Other peoples' input family, friends, teachers etc. source of belief of what's expected of us. Examples: 2) Experiences you have had Life proof; we need to rid the bad and accept the good! 3) Your internal dialogue...self talk Thoughts and feelings you tell yourself...and what you have told yourself about the input you've received from other people. This one is particularly tough since we feed it over and over, and over. AND to the extent there is CLARITY, the mind does not distinguish between an actual experience and one that has been vividly imagined! Proof: have you ever cried during a movie? screamed during a movie? laughed during a movie? The movie is not true...the moments are vividly imagined. d. Goals versus Visions...are they at odds? Use both to get your results. Goals: 1) Rely on deadlines. They are important cause they create a sense of urgency. 2) Rely on strategies of plans. Plans are important but also subject to change. These are not Visions...Visions are of you already in possession of the Goal! Goals do not inspire what it takes (Motivation)...whereas Vision does. "Always use a Vision and if deadlines empower you use them for short-term objectives."
4. Your Movie is Real a. "The truth that makes men free is, for the most part, the truth which most men prefer not to hear." Herbert Sebastian Agar b. Three parts of our mind: 1) Conscious Mind: top of our mind, provides reason, judgment and discernment. Our conscious can discern the difference between actual and vividly imagined. However, when it comes to our dreams, it is highly useless. Can't motivate us...move mountains. 2) Preconscious Mind: where deeper memory is stored. It is a library. Only pull out if we call up a memory from the vault. 3) Unconscious Mind: the rest of our mind where the magic happens. This is where our HABITS are stored as well as BELIEFS, FAITH, COURAGE, INSPIRATION, EMOTIONS and CREATIVITY. This is what lead us from ICE Age to our abundance today. Everything we ever accomplished comes from this. This is why we cry in movies...our conscious knows it is not true, but our subconscious does not...and that is what moves us! c. A visually imagined experience has the same programming quality and impact as an actual "real" experience. 1) Take a "failure" in your life. How many times have you replayed it? Vividly imagined, pictures, etc? Every time you replay it, it has the same impact as the first time. 2) One experience from childhood that taught you telling the truth causes pain...played over and over again reinforcing the beliefs you have about yourself. Thus, creating expectations (or lack thereof) of what you will create. 3) Stunning secret: we MAKE IT ALL UP! What is true if you don't consciously choose the results for your life, you will subconsciously choose it. "Most of us have unknowingly used this extraordinary gift to actually live small, quiet, safe lives, rarely venturing out to grab our own brand of brass ring." A few things said or done determined our whole future. 4) We can use this same process to reprogram ourselves, build a life by design, just by a little mastery of the process.
