From the Desk of Bishop Thomas S. Lee, Jr. For unto us a child is born For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulders: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV According to the writer in Isaiah 9:6 (KJV), God has made provision for the rescue of his people. Yes, because of their sinful nature God allowed judgment to fall on Jerusalem and Judah and they suffered greatly. But it is good to know that if we repent of our sins, God will restore us. And it is even better to know that the restoration comes with a Song of Praise. A Song of Praise (chapter 12:1-6 CEV of AAJE) At that time you will say, I thank you, Lord! You were angry with me but you stopped being angry and gave me comfort. I trust you to save me, Lord God, and I won t be afraid. My power and my strength come from you, and you have saved me. With great joy, your people will get water from the well of victory. At that time you will say, Our Lord, we are thankful, and we worship only you. We will tell the nations how glorious you are and what you have done. Because of your wonderful deeds we will sing your praises everywhere on earth. Sing, people of Zion! Celebrate the greatness of the holy Lord of Israel. God is here to help you. Bishop Thomas S. Lee, Jr. Pastor and Founder If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Every act and/or action in which I engage shall be done according to God s Holy word. I, at this very moment and every moment here afterwards for the remainder of life, apologize and repent for all infractions and/or perceived infractions against God and hereby surrender to all precepts, rules, regulations, and/or expectations of God. I, at this very moment, cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. I denounce all relationships with negative and satanic spirits and declare Jesus as ruler and Lord of my life. I am more than a conqueror. I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, determined to show forth praises to him who hath called me out of darkness into his marvelous light. I am all that the word of God says I am and I refuse to be robbed of any thing documented in my will, The Word of God, that God says I shall have. I rebuke all satanic forces coming against me and members of the family of God, in the mighty name of Jesus. I hereby demand that, through and in the mighty omnipotent name of Jesus, all Word designated blessings due me, fellow EBONITES, and others of the family of God be released immediately and that all satanic blocks and hindrances be permanently removed at this very moment. Amen. Penned by Bishop Thomas S. Lee, Jr. February 16, 2002 If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. II Corinthians 3
Prophetic Scripture - Isaiah 60:18-22 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shall call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee and everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land forever; the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time. If you worship the Lord your God, I will bless your bread and your water. I will take away sickness from you. Exodus 23:25 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Esteeming One Another SCRIPTURE - And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us... (Ephesians 5:2, AMP) WORD - We don t often hear the word esteem very much in our culture, but the Bible tells us to esteem and delight in one another. One definition of esteem is to hold in high regard. That means we are to honor and value one another and hold them in high regard, even if you don t always agree with them. Sometimes people think, That person doesn t act honorably, so why should I honor them? But the truth is, we are to honor and esteem people because they are valuable in the eyes of God. If you had a very costly and valuable piece of jewelry, you wouldn t just wear it to the gym or leave it on the kitchen sink. No, you would treat it carefully. You would put it in a safe place and protect it. It s the same way with people. When we see others as valuable the way God sees them, we treat them carefully. We speak respectfully. We look for the good in others and honor them for who God made them to be. This holiday season, choose to esteem and delight in one another. Sow good seeds into your relationships and see a harvest of blessing in every area of your life! PRAYER - Heavenly Father, today I choose love. I choose to honor the people around me. Help me to see value in others. Help my actions and words to esteem and delight in them so that I can be an example of Your love and light in Jesus name. Amen. Joel & Victoria Osteen Submitted by Missionary Brenda Anderson 8 Holiday or Holy Day? For centuries, society has been slowly drifting down a broad river of change, but speed is picking up, and we have now entered the rapids. Even Christmas is not immune to these changes. It has become just a "holiday" to the world and, sadly, even to some Christians. "Merry Christmas" has been replaced by "Happy Holidays," and carols about Jesus have been traded for songs celebrating Santa Claus, winter, family, and friends. Finding Christcentered Christmas cards has become a challenge. Snowmen and sleighs have taken the place of manger scenes, which were once common in both private and public settings. This slide away from Christ is the natural progression of the world, but it is not the direction that believers should go. Drifting is easy: you just relax and follow the path of least resistance. But going against the stream requires constant awareness and diligent effort. We must actively guard against letting the world steal Christ from our celebrations. Christmas is not just a holiday; it is a holy day the day God came to earth in the flesh of a tiny baby for the purpose of reconciling sinful mankind to Himself. Holidays are numerous, but there is only one Christmas. The world tries hard to find pleasure in Christ-less holiday observances, but happiness is often elusive when experiences don't match expectations. If you feel a sense of letdown, you may have drifted away from an authentic celebration of Christmas. Allow Jesus back in, and joy will return. Scripture of The Day: "And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." - Matthew 1:21 (NLT) 5
MEN EMPHASIS SUNDAY Jesus, Jesus! Oh What A Wonderful Child Jesus, Jesus So lowly meek and mild New life, new hope, New joy He brings Won't you listen to the angels sing Glory, glory, glory to the new born King He was herald by the angels- Born in a lowly manger The virgin Mary was His mother - And Joseph was his earthly father Three wise men came from afar - They were guided by a shining star To see King Jesus where He lay- In a manger filled with hay Oh, that Your baby boy would someday walk on water? that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you've delivered will soon deliver you. that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man? that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand? Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? And when your kiss your little baby, You have kissed the face of God. Oh The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again. The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? That your baby boy would one day rule the nations? Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb? This sleeping child you're holding is the great I Am.
