It all began with prayer... with a deep passion to take the love of God to the nations... with an unwavering commitment to the truth of Scripture. World War II was raging across the globe. But in Chicago, Illinois on Monday, May 24, 1943, a different, spiritual battle was being waged. A faithful group of 75 pastors and leaders gathered to address the pressing need to send faithful missionaries around the world with the soul-saving, life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. On their knees in prayer, they took a history-making stand. It was a costly step of faith. But these followers of Christ established the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society (CBFMS) to further the Great Commission by assisting churches in sending, funding and supporting gospel-focused missionaries. The first ten years became known as the Ten Miracle Years. Starting out with no staff, no fields and no funds, the mission grew to hundreds of missionaries across four continents! The following decades saw more growth than anyone could have anticipated. And after more than seven decades of gospel ministry, hundreds of thousands of people all over the world have become disciples of Jesus Christ by God s work through what is now called WorldVenture. Today, with more than 550 missionaries in over 68 areas of the world, we remain committed to the truth of Scripture and to taking the love of God to the nations in partnership with His Church. A FEW MILESTONES... > 1943: At the height of World War II and during a prayer meeting, the mission was born. 1953: More than 300 missionaries in 11 countries across four continents! 1974: The first missionary from a Japanese church leaves for missionary work in Congo! 1993: 50 new missionaries recruited for the 50th anniversary! 2003: WorldVenture supports over 500 missionaries in more than 60 world areas. 2015: We opened three new fields which has now allowed us to serve in 68 countries around the world. 1940 1950 1960 1970 1980 1990 2000 2010 2020 1948: The first new church in Brazil, first baptisms in Argentina, and the first hospital in Congo. 1950: After a year-long revival in Portugal, new believers number 10,000! 1965: Short-term missions service begins around the world. 1980: Focus begins in Eastern Europe as well as in creative access regions. 1994: The Decade of Harvest begins with an emphasis on unreached people groups. 2008: WorldVenture missionaries are involved in two new church plants every week. 2018: Celebrating 75 years of growing, kingdom-focused ministry to disciple the nations.

Dr. Mark Young President of Denver Seminary and former WorldVenture missionary, Mark will be one of our special speakers for the week. Mark and Priscilla served in leadership training with WorldVenture in Europe for many years. In 2018, WorldVenture will commemorate 75 years of gospel impact around the world! Pastor Danny Oertli Danny Oertli is an accomplished singer, songwriter, and author, encouraging audiences for the last 25 years with stories of God s faithfulness. He has performed worldwide as well as in all but two states (c mon N. Dakota and S. Dakota). He grew up as a pastor s kid in the Denver area and now serves as the Pastor of Weekend Experience at Mission Hills Church in Littleton, CO. He currently lives in Castle Rock, CO, with his wife Rayna, their three children, and Tulo, the insecure labradoodle.
