HISTORY Macedonian Missionary Service was established in 1973 as an outgrowth of the ministry of Leon Jasper and Harold Williams to preach the Word of God and offer help to those in need. Both had traveled extensively to foreign mission fields and saw many unmet needs of missionaries and their works. Because of their missionary zeal and helpful hearts, these brethren joined with three other Christian businessmen to create an organization to help Missionary Baptist Churches and their missionaries carry the gospel to the ends of the earth. Macedonian, with the sponsorship of Ardella Baptist Church and the endorsement of five other churches, was registered as a non-profit organization under the laws of the state of Florida. Offices in those early days were on the campus of Florida Baptist Schools in Lakeland. In 1981, Leon Jasper became a missionary of Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida, to work full time with Macedonian. Later that same year, sponsorship was assumed by Westwood. In 1982, Harold Williams resigned his position at Florida Baptist Schools to become a missionary of Westwood Baptist Church and work full time with Macedonian. Macedonian Missionary Service moved its offices into a remodeled two bedroom house on the church property. This space was quickly outgrown and in 1989, property was purchased in North Lakeland. Ground was broken that same year and in 1993, the ministry moved into its new facilities. These accommodations included offices, classrooms, a high quality recording studio for broadcasting, video reproduction, editorial facilities, mail room, Amateur Radio room, library, missionary bookstore, and print shop. Leon Jasper then moved to Kentucky in 1986 and opened the second Macedonian office. In 2001, land was donated for a new office building in Somerset and Macedonian Builders erected the building which opened in the spring of 2003. Macedonian Missionary Service is endorsed and sponsored by Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Concord, California, where Larry Wooley is pastor; by Hopewell Baptist Church of Cunningham, Tennessee, where Mike Raines is pastor; and our third endorsing church, Nevill s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, where Glenn Ray Griffith is pastor.

SERVING THE MISSIONARIES The heart of the work at Macedonian is missionary service and the focus of the ministry has been overseas. Macedonian has helped missionaries with evangelistic campaigns that have been instrumental in church planting. Essential equipment has been delivered to churches in the field at minimal or no cost to the missionaries themselves. This includes everything from appliance parts, computers, musical instruments, generators, sawmills, and vehicles. The Macedonian team has always had a heart for encouraging missionaries. Thousands of miles have been traveled in order to sit down face to face with a missionary and his family and assure them that someone cares. Missionaries have often testified of their appreciation for this personal touch, without any publicity. Missionary training is an outgrowth of Macedonian s ministry to churches and missionaries. Staff members are available for personal consultations with missionaries in the field and pastors, as well as to lead missionary retreats and seminars. Missionaries and pastors have also called on Macedonian when it came time to survey new fields. The team members are always open to serving the churches when it comes to opening new fields. SERVING THE CHURCHES Missions promotion has been an original goal and purpose of the ministry and the men and women of Macedonian have helped and continue to help churches across the United States and in several foreign countries with missions conferences. Only the Lord knows the added financial support for missions that has come about because of this ministry. Macedonian has also helped develop a vision for missions by taking laypeople from the churches to the foreign mission field for special projects. The verse Mine eye affecteth mine heart... Lamentations 3:51, has proven true as these men and women have returned to their home churches with a new zeal for missions. The ministry serves not only as a missions guide, but also as a missions teacher, so that those who participate in a project will experience life-changing revelations. Churches have also relied on Macedonian as a resource for information and a source of help when it came time to send a missionary to the field. Many pastors know that if they have a problem or a question about foreign mission work, Macedonian is an invaluable source of information. The Macedonian Call magazine is a quarterly publication that keeps churches, missionaries, and individuals informed about the ministry and new opportunities for service. It is sent to a mailing list of over 8,500 worldwide. FAITH PROMISE It has been the desire of the ministry to teach churches with a burden for world missions a biblical method of financing world evangelism. Through this training many churches have seen their faith increase along with an increase in mission giving, more missionaries being supported, and a greater awareness of world missions. Faith Promise works well in churches of all sizes and social backgrounds. Macedonian s goal with Faith Promise is to help churches develop an organized, purposeful approach to mission giving.

MACEDONIAN BUILDERS From 1980, Macedonian s Building Projects have occurred in 26 out of the 50 states across the U.S., in addition to 12 countries around the world which include Peru, Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Belize, Costa Rica, Vanuatu, Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, Romania, and Australia. Macedonian builders help missionaries and churches construct sanctuaries, fellowship halls and multipurpose buildings along with working with them on masterplanning, site developement, plan design, value engineering, and material supply. Macedonian builders had the great privilege of building its own offices. Through all 89 building projects, a total of 6,531 workers volunteered, a total of 956 days worked, and 672,620 man hours performed. MACMED Macedonian s Medical Teams have reached people in need all over the U.S. and countries around the world. Macedonian gives doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals the opportunity to use their talents and love for the Lord throughout the mission field. Since 1984, our medical teams have had a total of 1,477 team members, tended to 78,815 patients, made 113,084 visits, had 3,427 professions of faith, 248,751 prescriptions filled, 8,311 teeth extracted, and 114,200 man hours were performed. In Deuteronomy 15:11, God says, For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. And through Macedonian Missionary Service, we will obey our Lord and tend to those in need all over the world. MAC-TRIPS Through Macedonian s Mac-Trips, young adults have the opportunity to participate in missions through spiritual training and temporary placement with missionaries in the field. The teams spend time helping the local missionary in many ways. Since 1996 our S.T.E.A.M teams and Mac-Trips have continued that missionary work. Through VBS outreaches, youth camps, teaching/training, evangelism, faith promise seminars, and more, our young adults have reached out and shared God s endless love with those in need. All around the U.S. and select countries a total of 953 workers have volunteered, 756 made professions of faith, 2,107 Bibles were given, 376 days were worked, and a total of 24,700 man hours were performed.

MECHANICS TEAM The Mechanic Projects completed within our missionary work have become possible because of our diverse group of automotive mechanics, as well as helpers with no automotive background. This ministry offers an assortment of skills in the automotive repair industry, both across the United States and on the mission fields worldwide. Macedonian has a state-of-the-art shop in Acworth, GA with tools, lifts, and various other equipment. With Macedonian being a 501(c)(3) orginization we are able to receive gifts such as vehicles, buses, trucks, trailers, etc. Many have taken advantage of this in an effort to help our missionaries. With a total of 63 workers and 40,624 man hours worked, some of our projects have included traveling to Costa Rica, Honduras, and Brazil along with major engine work, replacing fuel tanks, fuel filters, braking systems and other serving works. Other works include repairs on interstate missionary vehicles, over 100 hours a month working on missionary and church vehicles in shop, and average of about two or three calls per week from missionaries all over the country who need guidance in auto repairs. RADIO BROADCAST MINISTRIES The Macedonian Call Radio Broadcast has been on the air since 1984. Harold Williams is the voice of the radio broadcast and since 1987, has been one of Trans World Radio s most popular broadcasters. The radio broadcast is now beamed around the world from transmitters in Guam in the Pacific and Radio Tirana in Albania and Kenya, East Africa. English manuscripts are now being translated into Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Burmese, and Swahili. The Macedonian Call is beamed into countries where over 80% of the world s population is now able to receive the broadcast. Several thousand letters of response have been received from listeners on five continents. CORRESPONDENCE A further follow-up ministry to the radio broadcast is the COURSE Basic Bible Course done by Macedonian Correspondance School. This course is used in many other ministries including the Olympic Bible Project and various prison ministries across the United States. The Correspondence School has some 700 students in it at any given time. It has now been translated into more than twelve languages and is being used around the world.

CHURCH PLANTING A further follow-up to the broadcast is the ministry of church planting. New fields have been opened and new men have gone to the field as a direct result of this ministry. Fields now being considered for future work include Cuba, Haiti, Ukraine, Poland, China, New Guinea, Belarus, Pakistan, Panama, and Afghanistan. SPECIAL PROJECTS Through our radio broadcast and correspondence ministries along with our special projects, Macedonian has shared the good news all around the world. With correspondence requests of song books in Vanuatu, Olympics in Atlanta, GA - Calgary, Canada - Sydney, Australia - Salt Lake City, Utah and Torino, Italy in 2006, medical request in El Salvador, broadcast in Kenya, and more we have completed a total of 10,264 requests. Our special projects have included evangelism, medical training, mission training seminars, van delivery, faith promise training, teaching teams, van donation projects, container shipment, survey trips, children s medical needs, fund-raisers, and more. We have reached people all over the world from Japan, Greece, Romania, Calgary, Canada, Australia, India, Philippines, Albania, Romania, Peru, Nicaragua, Belize, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Mongolia, Thailand, Mayanmar and the United States of America. Since 1995, Macedonian s special projects have had a total number of 12,000 workers, thousands of cases of profession of faith have occurred, 328 days worked, and a total of 79,020 man hours performed. PRINTING Macedonian has been involved in publishing and printing Bibles and tracts from day one. Millions of tracts have been delivered to the field in many different languages. Macedonian cooperates with others in the Bible printing ministry and has developed an in-house publishing ministry for printing needs other than Bibles.

MINISTRY FUND The Ministry Fund is how the Macedonian offices in Kentucky and Florida are staffed and equipped. Macedonian s method of accounting is that 100% of what is given goes to that fund. Macedonian does not take a percentage of donations and put towards indirect cost. None of the Macedonian team, with exception of the office staff, receive salaries; each one of us is a faith missionary, dependent upon designated support. As the ministry continues to grow, it is paramount that the offices stay up to date on equipment and staff. We encourage all to partner with us in giving to this fund. By doing so you have a part in every ministry. In addition to the Ministry Fund, please consider supporting one or more of the following ministries of Macedonian Missionary Service.
