Quran Facts The Quran records the words of Allah. The main theme of the Quran is the Creation Plan of Allah. Building Abuilding is a structure that has a roof and walls. The people of Ad and Thamud erected very fine buildings. O Burning Brand n the way back to Egypt, when the Prophet Musa or Moses, saw a fire, he left his family and set off himself to bring them back some burning brand, or to get some guidance at the fire as to how to proceed. Burden A heavy load that is difficult to carry. The Quran says: On no soul does Allah place a burden greater than it can bear. (Al-Baqarah 2:286) Business Urging the believers to deal fairly in business, the Quran comments that most business partners are unfair to one another. All transactions should be done fairly and legally with witnesses. (Sad 38:24) 13

Allah Allah is the personal name of the Creator of the Universe. He is one and has no partners. No one is equal to Him. He has 99 names. We should worship only and only Him. Prayers from the Quran Our Lord, guard us from the punishment of Hell, for its punishment is most painful to suffer. Indeed, it is an evil abode and evil dwelling-place. (Al-Furqan 25:65-66) Angel Angels are special creatures of Allah. They are created from light. They praise and glorify Allah and never disobey Him. They perform different types of work assigned to them by Allah. Angel of Death The Angel of Death, or the Death Angel, is the one who takes away our souls at the time of our death. Allah says: The Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls: then shall you be brought back to your Lord. (Luqman 31:11) Anger I t is a negative quality. The Quran urges its adherents not to react out of anger. One of the qualities of the true believers is their ability to forgive others when they are angry. Do not be angry is one of the main pieces of advice given by the Prophet Muhammad. Controlling one s anger is a good quality. The Quran approves of those, who restrain anger and pardon the people (Al Imran 3:134) Quran Facts The Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad œ in 610 A.D., when he was 40 years old. 6

Hh Habil One of the two sons of the Prophet Adam. His brother Qabil, or Cane, killed him unjustly. Haman Haman was the vizier of Pharaoh. Pharaoh and Haman rejected the Prophet Musa s call to worship Allah and refused to set the Children of Israel free. Pharaoh commissioned him to build a tall tower for him to mount and see the God of Musa. Hajj The pilgrimage to Makkah performed in the month of Dhul Hijjah. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad said, If someone performed hajj with sincerity and purity of heart, he would return from there as pure and sinless as he was born. Harun Harun or Aaron was the brother of Musa and a prophet. He helped in the mission of the Prophet Musa. The Quran says: Musa had charged his brother Harun (before he went up). (Al-A raf 7:142) 26

Ihram The name of the unsewn costume that a pilgrim wears. Also the state a haji or mu tamir enters into in order to perform his hajj or umrah. Injil Injil or Gospel is one of the four major divine books given to the Prophet Isa or Jesus. According to the Quran, the present Gospel (Bible) is not in its original form. Many changes had later been made to it. Insha Allah Meaning Allah willing, if Allah wills. The Quran commands the believers never to say, I will do it tomorrow, without adding, If Allah wills.
