Early in this coming year, we will be improving our art appreciation with a tour of the Ansel Adams display in our local area. We have all seen one of his most famous photos, titled The Face of Half Dome, and we ll see many others during out tour. Thanks to Lance and Shirley for organizing this upcoming event. Our year will include a safari to see exotic skins taxidermy from African hunting trips, being preserved by the professional staff, at Carolina Fur Dressing Adventures during this coming year will include attendance at the yearly Airstream national rally, in Escanaba, MI. Those attending will be able to enjoy many beautiful scenes on the way to the northern tip of the Great Lakes, In this case, specifically, the U P on the northern coast of Lake Michigan. For the next issue, we will conduct a chapter contest to find out who experienced the widest range of temperatures during the month of December. If anyone enjoyed some snow, perhaps creating a snow model of an Airstream, to match one of our library photo, here or perhaps a vintage model, reflecting the snowy history of Airstream In closing, A Shout out to all A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 2

MEMBERSHIP REPORT FOR DECEMBER 2016 This is our first article as membership chairpersons. Richard is a tough act to follow, but we will keep up the tradition that he has left us. We personally would like to thank Richard for welcoming and guiding us though the year to enrich our experiences with the Piedmont NC Unit. Diane and I attended every unit sponsored event; we enjoyed the experiences and the members we have gotten to know. We will do our best to continue growth in the membership We welcome a new member couple to the unit, Charles and Evelene Gallardo of Smyrna. They joined November 29th as a transfer from the Eastern Carolina unit with WBCCI number 4208. Their mailing address is 215 Possum Trot Road, Smyrna, NC 28579-9501. Email address is sailskye@live.com. As for renewals, we have 61 members that have renewed thus far. We have four members who have not yet renewed: Erik and Stephanie Olsen, Charles Chassaing and Margaret Martin, Gary and Sheri Garrett, and David and Debra Reitmeyer. They have not notified us of any intention leave us; please reach out to these members and encourage them to renew. Two members have indicated they have decided not to renew: Jim and Midge Markus, and William Turner Jr. We are sorry they are leaving us and wish them good luck for the future. Diane and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We'll see you down the rally road in 2017. Russ and Diane Barberio, Incoming Membership Chairpersons Treasurer Report for December 2016 At the November rally I was installed as the unit treasurer but due to transactions in progress I did not assume those duties until December. Jerry Shelton and I met December 16th and reviewed the treasurer's duties, which included a review of checking account activity, financial and other transactions with members and WBCCI Headquarters. We also met with a bank representative to update signatures cards, the statement address and other records associated with the club's checking account. Currently Jerry Shelton and myself are authorized to sign checks. He will be my backup in the event I am unavailable. In the next few months I will be exploring online banking opportunities to see how it may speed up transactions as well as save the club a few dollars in mailing expense. In addition I will be contacting other clubs to see how they handle their rally registration. There may be times when neither Jerry or myself are available and I would like to have procedures in place should that happen. Stedman Brown, Treasurer 3
