CONFIRMATION On Sunday 27 July 2014 the Bishop of London is kindly returning to preside at a Service of Baptism and Confirmation and Choral Communion. The Temple Church Choristers Education Fund We owe an immense debt of gratitude to the 450 benefactors who helped us to cover the entire cost of the organ s refurbishment from donations; and we are glad that so many were able to join us when Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh came here in May for its rededication. We are now starting our next project. Encouraged by the success of the Organ Appeal, we are confident that over time we can raise a very significant capital sum towards the endowment of our choristers bursaries and the provision of their ever deeper musical education. We have already received some very generous legacies and gifts specifically for this cause. We owe a particular debt of gratitude to the late Master Rosina Hare of Middle Temple for her immensely generous legacy, and to the late James Garland, longstanding member of our Sunday congregation, for his similar support. We look forward in 2014 to nominating a Rosina Hare Chorister in honour of Master Hare s long-lasting love of the choir and in gratitude for her gift. There will be such a chorister, named in her memory, in perpetuity. There were already organs and choristers in the Temple Church in 1307. It is a privilege and delight for us all to hear their successors. We look forward to handing on this extraordinary tradition, safe and sound, to generations yet unborn.
