FALL AUGUST THE HUNT WISDOM IS WORTH SEARCHING FOR When Jesus was a boy, He grew in wisdom and chose to make the wise choice no matter what situation He faced. God wants us to discover wisdom. When we make the wise choice, we reflect the character of Jesus to people around us. WEEK ONE: Jesus Grows in Wisdom Luke 2:41-52 BOTTOM LINE: If you want to be wise, search for wisdom. WEEK TWO: Wise People See Danger Proverbs 22:3 BOTTOM LINE: If you want to be wise, look before you leap. WEEK THREE: Rehoboam Listens to Fools 2 Chronicles 10 BOTTOM LINE: If you want to be wise, hang out with wise people. WEEK FOUR: Trust in the Lord Proverbs 3:5-6 BOTTOM LINE: If you want to be wise, trust God to give you wisdom. If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you. James 1:5a, NIrV SEPTEMBER DIRTY JOBS SOMEBODY S GOTTA DO IT When God saw our sin, He took initiative and sent Jesus to make things right. Initiative is a spiritual principle that reflects the heart of God. When see a need and choose to do something about it, people can see the reality of God s love for them. OCTOBER WEEK ONE: Nehemiah Hears About the Wall Nehemiah 1:1-2:1-9 BOTTOM LINE: Be on the lookout for what needs to be done. WEEK TWO: Nehemiah Plans to Rebuild the Wall Nehemiah 2:11-18 BOTTOM LINE: Don t wait for someone else to do what needs to be done. WEEK THREE: Nehemiah Helps the Poor Nehemiah 5:1-12 BOTTOM LINE: Don t wait for someone else to help people in need. MORE OR LESS? WEEK FOUR: Nehemiah and Sanballat Nehemiah 2:19-20, 4,6 BOTTOM LINE: Stay focused on what needs to be done. Regardless of what we have or the situation we face, we can respond to God with contentment. Our lives may never be perfect, but we can trust God no matter what. WEEK ONE: Be Content (Paul in prison) Philippians 4:11b-13 BOTTOM LINE: God can help you be okay no matter what. WEEK TWO: Don t Be Controlled by Money Hebrews 13:5 BOTTOM LINE: Stuff can t keep you happy. WEEK THREE: King Ahab and Naboth s Vineyard 1 Kings 21:1-19, 27 BOTTOM LINE: Wanting what others have can make you miserable. WINTER NOVEMBER JAM SESSION BUILD A BETTER BEAT God created us to work together in community, and throughout the Bible, we can read how God brought people together to accomplish something big for Him. When we work together, we reflect what Jesus envisioned for His followers. Our love for one another can point people to Him. WEEK ONE: Building the Tabernacle Exodus 28:1,3; 31:1-11; 35:21,25,34; 39:42-43 BOTTOM LINE: God wants us to work together. WEEK TWO: Joshua Wins the Battle Over the Amalekites Exodus 17:8-13 BOTTOM LINE: Work together to help someone succeed. WEEK THREE: Jesus Heals the Paralytic / 4 Friends Luke 5:17-26 BOTTOM LINE: Work together to help someone in need. WEEK FOUR: One Body but Many Parts 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 BOTTOM LINE: Work together to point others to Jesus. Two people are better than one. They can help each other in everything they do. Ecclesiastes 4:9, NIrV DECEMBER UNDERCOVER CHRISTMAS MAKE OTHERS YOUR MISSION God s compassion for the people He created lead to the greatest act of love the world had ever seen. God sent His only Son to make us right with Him. We reflect that compassion when we care about others and show them how much God loves them. WEEK ONE: God Loves the World John 3:16 BOTTOM LINE: God did something about our greatest need. WEEK TWO: Gabriel Appears to Mary Luke 1:26-38 BOTTOM LINE: God can use anyone to meet others needs. WEEK THREE: Jesus is Born Luke 2:1-7 BOTTOM LINE: God gave us the greatest gift. WEEK FOUR: Shepherds Visit Luke 2:8-20 BOTTOM LINE: Share the good news about Jesus. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. John 3:16, NIrV JANUARY OPERATING SYSTEM UPDATE THE WAY YOU REACT Self-control is one of the Fruits of the Spirit. As we follow Jesus, His Spirit is transforming us and giving us the power to show self-control. Self-control is a response to the character of God impacting our lives. WEEK ONE: Broken Down Walls Proverbs 25:28 BOTTOM LINE: Doing what you should can keep you safe. WEEK TWO: Slow to Anger Proverbs 16:32 BOTTOM LINE: Think before you lose your temper. SPRING FEBRUARY ALWAYS OPEN SERVICE WITH A SMILE From washing His disciples feet to laying down His life for the world, Jesus demonstrated what serving really means. As we serve the people in our life, we reflect the character of Jesus to them. WEEK ONE: Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet John 13:1-17 BOTTOM LINE: Serve others because of what Jesus did for us. WEEK TWO: Meet People s Needs 1 Peter 4:10-11 BOTTOM LINE: Look for ways to serve others. WEEK THREE: Feeding 5,000 John 6:1-13 BOTTOM LINE: Use what you have to serve others. WEEK FOUR: Give in Secret Matthew 6:1-4 BOTTOM LINE: Serve others without looking for applause. Jesus sat down and called for the 12 disciples to come to him. Then he said, Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last. They must be the servant of everyone. Mark 9:35, NIrV MARCH MADE DISCOVER WHO YOU RE MEANT TO BE God is the only God. God is one of a kind, with no beginning and no end. And everything God has created is unique and one of a kind, including people created in His image. Every person is an original reflection of God. Our individuality is a reflection of the character of God. APRIL WEEK ONE: Image of God Genesis 1:26-28 BOTTOM LINE: God made me in His image. WEEK TWO: The Lost Sheep Luke 15:1-7 BOTTOM LINE: God wants to have a relationship with me. WEEK THREE: Timothy 1 Timothy 4:12 BOTTOM LINE: God made me to make a difference. WEEK FOUR: Samuel and David (God Looks at the Heart) 1 Samuel 16:7 BOTTOM LINE: God wants me to see what really matters. BRIGHT SIDE WEEK FIVE: Greatest Commandment Matthew 22:34-40 BOTTOM LINE: God made me to love others. How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. We are often limited in what we see and understand, but we can believe in a God we know who keeps His promises. Our hope is rooted in a good God who is working to make something beautiful of our lives. WEEK ONE: Lazarus Raised John 11:1-45 BOTTOM LINE: Whatever happens, remember how powerful God is. WEEK TWO: Palm Sunday John 12:9-16 BOTTOM LINE: Whatever happens, remember God keeps his promises. WEEK THREE: Crucifixion and Resurrection John 18-20:1-18 BOTTOM LINE: Whatever happens, remember Jesus is alive. WEEK FOUR: Jesus Appears to Thomas John 20:19-23 BOTTOM LINE: Whatever happens, remember God is bigger than your questions. In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! SUMMER MAY MUD RUN MAKE IT THROUGH THE MAYHEM Throughout history, God has offered strength to help people persevere through even the worst situations. Jesus persevered through death itself to make us right with God. We can have perseverance because of what God has done through Jesus. WEEK ONE: Great Commission and Spread of Gospel Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1 and 2 BOTTOM LINE: Keep going because God is with you. WEEK TWO: Paul and Silas in Prison Acts 16:16-40 BOTTOM LINE: You can choose joy when life gets hard. But those who trust in the Lord will receive new strength. They will fly as high as eagles. They will run and not get tired. They will walk and not grow weak. Isaiah 40:31, NIrV WEEK THREE: Cloud of Witnesses Hebrews 12:1 BOTTOM LINE: God can help you let go of what is holding you back. WEEK FOUR: Fix Your Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 12:2-3 BOTTOM LINE: Keep going because of what Jesus did for you. JUNE God created us in His image, and He sent His Son to show us the way to live. He also knew we would need help; that s why He sent us the Holy Spirit. With the power of the Spirit, we can produce fruit that points others to Jesus. JULY POWER UP WEEK ONE: Love Is... 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a BOTTOM LINE: Love others because God loves you. WEEK TWO: Apostles are Treated Badly Acts 5:17-42 BOTTOM LINE: Choose joy no matter what s going on. WEEK THREE: Birds/Flowers (Don t Worry) Matthew 6:26 BOTTOM LINE: You can have peace because God is in control. WEEK FOUR: Simeon at the Temple Luke 2:22-39 BOTTOM LINE: When you need to wait, ask God for patience. POWER UP WEEK FIVE: Good Samaritan Luke 10:25-37 BOTTOM LINE: Be kind to everyone. RAISE YOUR GAME The fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself. Galatians 5:22-23a, NIrV RAISE YOUR GAME God created us in His image, and He sent His Son to show us the way to live. He also knew we would need help; that s why He sent us the Holy Spirit. With the power of the Spirit, we can produce fruit that points others to Jesus. WEEK ONE: Every Good and Perfect Gift James 1:17a BOTTOM LINE: Show God s goodness to others. WEEK TWO: Peter Gets Out of Prison Acts 12:1-19 BOTTOM LINE: Be faithful so others can count on you. WEEK THREE: Jesus and the Little Children Mark 10:13-16 BOTTOM LINE: God can give you the strength to be gentle. WEEK FOUR: Taming of the Tongue James 3:1-12 BOTTOM LINE: God gives you the power to have self-control. God began a good work in you. And I am sure that he will carry it on until it is completed. That will be on the day Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6, NIrV 6
