2013 Conference Teaching Summaries Day 1 V 9:00-11:00am - Keynote Speaker Tim Hegg V "What Is Yeshua Building In His Kehillah?" - During this teaching our Keynote Speaker will explore the scriptures with us to help us better understand what the goals of the Messianic community should be, and what Yeshua The Messiah envisioned our various communities to become. ~ Tim Hegg is the Founder of the teaching ministry "Torah Resource" (torahresource.com) and is also the President for Torah Resource Institute, a Messianic Jewish Institute for higher learning. In addition, he is congregational leader at Messianic Congregation Beit Hallel in Tacoma, Wa (beithallel.org). Tim is a well-known and respected Messianic Jewish Scholar and Teacher in the Messianic community. V 11:15am-12:15pm - Messianic Rabbi Reuel Dillon V "Conflict Management In The Messianic Community" - This teaching will focus on various aspects of conflict management for our leadership, community members, and in our family relationships. During this time we will explore how imperative it is for the Messianic community to get a handle on this subject so that we may establish a firm foundation that represents the love and holiness of Yeshua our Messiah, and the God of Yisra'el. ~ R' Reuel Dillon is the Founder and President of the United Messianic Jewish Assembly (UMJA), and is also congregational leader at Synagogue Chavurat HaMashiach in Spokane, Wa (synagoguechm.com) V 1:45-2:45pm - Messianic Rabbi Yoseph Katznelson V "Outreach & Building Bridges In The Community" - During this teaching R' Yoseph will exhort us in the importance of outreach and building bridges between the Christian community and the Jewish (both Messianic & non-messianic) community. This subject would cover the importance of being proactive when it comes to building bridges with the Christian community, the non-messianic Jewish community, and with Messianic communities that are not a part of the UMJA. The teaching will cover our dialogue with these communities in our local areas, the importance of not burning bridges to these communities, and a balanced approach to how we can do this while not compromising our convictions. This teaching would also include some practical steps we can all take to reach out and build relationships with these communities. ~ R' Yoseph Katznelson is a Beit Din member of the UMJA, and is also congregational leader of Shorshay HaMashiach, an Orthodox Messianic Jewish Congregation in Denver, CO (rootsofthemessiah.com).

V 3:00-4:00pm - Messianic Rabbi Shalit (Richard) Bristol V "Education & Discipleship In The Messianic Community" - Education, discipleship, equipping the Messianic community, and the training of future leaders is essential to the future of the Messianic Jewish community and to the body of Messiah. This teaching will explore how important it is for our various congregations to be engaging in various areas of study, and will provide several practical steps to help us accomplish these goals. During this time we will also cover the steps our families need to be taking in regards to personally fulfilling the Shema and teaching our children, and thus prepare them for a Godly life, for their bar mitzvah, ect. R' Shalit will also speak on the importance of our leaders and perspective leaders pursuing a higher education through the various universities, institutes, or yeshivas that are currently available to the messianic community (i.e. TRI - Torah Resource Institute, ect.). ~ R' Shalit Bristol is congregational leader of Messianic congregation Omed Chazak (Standing Strong) in Denver, CO (standingstrong.org). Day 2 V 9:00-11:00am - Keynote Speaker Tim Hegg V "Practical Steps For Implementing What Yeshua Wants Us To Be" - On the second day our Keynote Speaker will discuss crucial steps that our communities should consider taking to build a solid foundation and to make our communities generational, and not just viable while the founders are living. During this time he will explore with us how damaging "lashan hara" (evil speech) is within the Messianic community, and will speak about some practical and Godly steps we can all employ to keep each other accountable to this important aspect of community life. ~ R' Aharon Chaimberlin is Vice President of the UMJA, and is congregational leader of Messianic congregation Petah Tikvah in Rochester, NY (petahtikvah.com).
